Here's a small review I posted long time back - http://www.scalemodelcarz.com/enter/thread-313.html I don't find any problems with the stance but what I do find a bit irritating is that the rear portion of the car seems to be longer than it should be so that it seems that the rear end is hanging over if you know what I mean. You can see that in the 2nd pic in my review. I would however want to have the Autoart version of the original stock Murcielago. RE: Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera - Maisto 1:18
Well,I've always found the Maisto 1:18 Lamborghini Murcielago (Both, the original and the LP640) is narrower and taller than it should be.Your right about the rear overhangs,as well. Also, while your piece seems to have no major paint issues, most of the examples of the LP640 I've come across in toy stores appear to have been painted by an eight year old on a sugar rush...with crayon. The black paint Maisto's used so liberally is just all over the place. The assymetric air inlets on either side of the car haven't been faithfully recreated, either.Mostly, though,it is the weird proportions that are most difficult for me to digest.

RE: Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera - Maisto 1:18
The LP640 I have has absolutely no paint issues, on the contrary, the superb paint shine and finish was one of THE factors that swung the decision in its favour over the Burago Reventon. But Sid, are you sure there's something wrong with the air inlets, AFAI can see, they seem to be replicated faithfully.

RE: Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera - Maisto 1:18
Oops!My bad.The air inlets are alright.
I guess the paint inconsistencies are down to Maisto's quality control. You're lucky you found yourself one where the black paint employed around the windows actually manages to follow the window out-line through-out.Seen examples on which this black border/frame on the doors fails to line up with the body when the doors are closed. (04-28-2011 07:07 AM)Diecast Wrote: Congrats great car Karan Thanks Ravi....and you are right about the new Burago Aventador....it's solid crap with really ugly panel gaps and not too attractive paintwork. Even if a Welly version comes up, I doubt I will get one coz I didn't find the Aventador anything new, just a slightly modified Reventon in orange. RE: Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera - Maisto 1:18
The Maisto 1:18 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is probably only a slight improvement over the original.Proportions and over-all shape are still way off.But atleast the LP640 does not have this hideous excuse for a mesh grille for the front bumper cut-outs seen here on an example of the original Murcielago by Maisto.
![]() By the way,I fear I've gone quite off-topic.This thread is to discuss one of Maisto's finest efforts. Not bash one of its worst creations.Sorry! Inside every man is a little kid who wants to play. |
