Diablo Wrote:Karan, nice car and I agree about the stupid instruction set. Half of it is guess work. You should also get rid of the whitewalls. Not in character with the car.

Hmm....it did strike me about the whitewalls that the car looked a bit strange after putting them on, without them the car seemed more like its time if you know what I mean. Now that they are there the car does look a bit incongruous since the 1936 500K also has those and it's 20 yrs older than the 300SL.

The instruction sheet is a dog no doubt but I really enjoyed fitting the engine and the undercarriage together, it was a real jigsaw puzzle and when it all finally snapped into place, that was really satisfying!!!

channabasanna Wrote:Karan nice touring SL car, and nice to see those 4 vintage beauties.
Are those signature models (except 500K) i like the silver Arrow, these vintage beauties remind me of the game Mafia, which i used to play and enjoy. Nice game it is and you can see many classics in that.

Thanks Channa. All the 4 vintages are not Siggies. The red Merc 500K is a Maisto while the others (Jag, Duesey and Silver Arrow) are Signatures. The Silver Arrow is a real eyecatcher, I just wish Signature could have improved its paintwork finish.

I too have played Mafia Big Grin Truly rivetting amazing game. Played it about 4 yrs back in college. Had a blast playing it. The cutscenes are some of the best and the cars are just awesome!!

Truly an amazing game with lot of in game cutscenes. Just wonderful game. This was the game which made me hate the GTA series because of its lifelike realistic gameplay and graphics.

Now waiting for MAFIA 2 to release, as per wikipedia the scheduled date is last week of August 2010.

These classic scalemodels and the Mafia game, makes me feel to have the classics collection and create a scale world (Mafia game style) for these beauties.

Could you mention the price of these signature models and their features.

RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
You have got to start a vintage theme Channa.....these are priceless beauties of a bygone era. I believe you have one the Merc 500K in white gifted by your colleagues. That's a start, now add on to it!!!

I have written reviews of all the 3 Siggies, here are the links and their prices:

Jag XK120 - Rs. 2000 - http://www.scalemodelcarz.com/enter/show...113&page=1

Duesey - Rs. 2500, although I got this at a 25% discount since the front logo and the left headlight were a bit bent and the box was not tip-top. Actually this was why I picked it up because of the discount!! http://www.scalemodelcarz.com/enter/show...hp?tid=152

Pierce Arrow - Rs. 3000 - http://www.scalemodelcarz.com/enter/show...hp?tid=201

Thanks for the links Karan, yeah having a vintage collection is a different feeling altogether. I do like having vintages along with the present generation supercars. Already do have 4 vintages right now, will be adding more to it. i.e. Merc 500k (1:18 Maisto), Porsche 356A & Merc 500 SL (1:24's i think they are BBurago) and a 1932 Cadillca (1:32 Signature)

RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
Thanks Channa, actually that's what I thought when I had a look at the thumbnails at the link you gave above. The Cadillac Fleetwood is available in bright blue in 1:32. The creamish colour one that you have looked more like the LeBaron but I couldn't confirm since the thumbnails are not opening up when I am clicking on them.

I would really appreciate it if you could post some close-up shots of the LeBaron including interior and the engine. Thanks!!
