RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
Love the Jaguar XK120. I am a huge Jaguar fan and I cannot get enough of them. Also like the red Porsche by Maisto. I only wish that Maisto made the turbo version of it. I love my Porsches with wings. Thanks for reminding that I still have to add a Miura to complete the trilogy of what I consider the most beautiful cars of all times, Mercedes Benz 300SL, Jaguar E-type (1st gen) and the Lamborghini Miura.
Edit: I agree with Ari. Difficult to keep the head on top of the heart in this hobby.

RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
As Ari mentioned, it's good that I know what to get. And that's true as far as I am concerned in most of the cases. But let me tell you, the Jag XK120 was not at all in my wishlist or any other list. This one was my first impulsive buy as I was just hooked by the amazing Signature detailing and finish and an even more attractive price of 2000 bucks. And I thank Signature for that coz this was the one which also hooked me into vintages as before this I had absolutely no taste or eye for vintages. This one and of course Sri's constant reminders in his "My Collection" thread
![]() Diablo, I too am a huge fan of Jaguar so much so that I lamented when the famed British auto maker was acquired by Tata Motors. There are several Jag cars which are in my wishlist like the XJ220 (another hard to find Maisto model), the XK Coupe (stunning beauty by Autoart but too pricey), the XJR-15 (this one was in NFS3 - Hot Pursuit, don't know if a diecast exists for this one), the Mark II (left it coz Burago haven't got the scale right). RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
Karan, the XK120 was an instant classic even in its time. It is one of the most elegant cars ever built and the beautiful proportions are unmatched. Signature captured this car very well. The hardtop version came with walnut wood panelling for the interiors and the open top came with leather covered dash.
The Maisto XJ220 is beautiful in silver but very hard to find now. Green is more readily available and it costed 995 Rs MRP. No one makes the XJR15 in 1:18 so far. But its one hell of a looker. The MarkII is a Maisto mold and it is grossly under scale. Like the XK120, its a land mark Jag and Maisto had to bungle it up. When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk. ![]() |

RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
Nice set of beauties there karan
Got one query, how did you manage to take pic in this unique size? The pics look like wide angle shots, vertically they are very small.

RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
Thanks Vaas. I just clicked the pics thru digicam normally as any other pics. Then reduced vertical dimension by cropping them in Microsoft Picture Manager

RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
Nice cars and pics there Karan.
PS: You guys might know this but still i am feeling like sharing, 120 in XK120 is the speed in miles this car was capable (and some nicely restored models still are) to achieve. This car used to produce 160+ bhp when the 35 bhp was almost de riguer. |

RE: My 1:18 collezione!!!
Thats an awesome looking lineup Karan. The XK120 should look great next to the S type. The Eliminator is a huge model!
