Hi All,

I am Darshan from Bangalore working for TCS in Bangalore, I am crazy abt cars both miniatures and the real ones, of course cant afford to buy the real ones like I buy the miniatures Smile

Started my collection just about a year ago and luv die cast scales of 1:18 and 1:12
My collection mainly comprises of fast cars, not yet into antiques.

I have bought quite a few models from Shiv and hope to expand my collection.

Hi folks, I am extremely glad to find that there's a common forum exclusively for diecast collectors......till now was looking for something like this in orkut but those communities were not very active....

Anyway a little about me.....I am 25 yrs old......I worked at Accenture for 1 yr then quit my job this yr to prepare for cat which went off good!!!

Started collecting diecasts when I spotted some Maistos in a Pune mall and then I just couldn't control myself!!!! At first I satisfied myself with 1:24's (coz they were reasonably priced and also at that time there were no 1:18's around).

After that when I came across 1:18's, I said to hell with the 24's coz the 18's were much more detailed and didn't look like toys but something serious!!!!

So now I have about 11 1:24 models and 8 1:18 models.....

Welcome aboard Karan and glad to see yet another collector on SMC. Looking forward to seeing pics of your collection and also reading your views. Keep collecting. Glad to know your cat was great. More money = more diecast.

Hi Karan,

Diablo must be the most happiest person amongst all of us to welcome you to SMC. I am also happy to see a person like you in this forum. You have completely overhauled the SMC by spraying colourful posting all over the forum in a short time. Earlier we used to get one posting per day like a scheduled maintainance. Now it like a pit stop strategy we have to choose which one to go first.

Hope you will continue to take time off to be active in this forum once you land up in a good job. I wish your collection takes an accelarated pace (more money = more diecast).

Janardhan, I am ecstatic whenever I see a new post everytime I renew the SMC page on the browser window and believe me, I renew the page every two minutes whenever I am online. It was no doubt a great day on 16th December when we had the largest number of discussions till date. Thats why this forum exists. So that people exchange views or else Ari and I were happy just chatting on yahoo about diecast. We want to reach a larger section of collectors and share the joys of this hobby.

Hi Janardhan and thanks!!!! However I did get the feeling that all my posts were being read or replied to by just 2 ppl - Diablo and Aritrim.
And yes, this is one hobby I think I won't be leaving so easily, job or no job Big Grin

However, one bad news, my comp is gone AWOL again, so now I will have to come to a nearby cafe to surf the net, guess i won't be posting everyday now Sad

Karan, sorry to hear about your computer. These things always go kaput when you need them most. I guess it overheated with you posting and replying to all those topics.
