This one's for the record...

Corvettes have been particularly bad-ass for most of us. This one's no different. Presenting to you the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport coupe.

The car looks like it walked out of the gym with its wide wheels, muscular fenders, and tires, and bulging scoops on the bonnet. The paintwork ('Standox Monte Carlo Magic' in this case) is outstanding. The lustre, and coat application is undeniably up there, as is the fit and finish. Exoto's excellent craftsmanship is evident in this example, both inside and out. The door handles and decals are photo-etched and look the part. Consistent paneling across the body is realistic and pleasing to the eyes.

The trunk opens to reveal the spare. I love when this happens. Big Grin

At almost double the width of the stock version, the Grand Sport version's realistic tire patterns and wheels are mad cool!

The dashboard looks like it is supposed to - dummy-like, that is. I wish it were less plasticky, but Duntov shed a lot of weight in the cabin in the 1:1s by making the dash delicate and non-functional, but production-looking. The doors were stripped off their hardware to aid in weight reduction. This comes with racing seat belts made with nylon and the steering wheel is well detailed too.

All this reduction in weight meant that the 360hp 330 cubin inch engine got more power. The engine bay is well detailed in all it's metallic rawness.

Exoto has managed to capture the stance of this beast beautifully.

All in all, a delightful piece of diecast which I'd recommend to all Corvette lovers. Smile

<<<Big fan of Standox colors here. Superb model Karan and lovely pics. I had been on the Bandra-Worli sea link yesterday. It was delightful to drive there since there was hardly any vehicles it being Dassera. Exoto definitely puts all their efforts into their diecast. Not for nothing do they call it Furiously Detailed. Those tire details are some of the best I have ever seen. All in all a wonderful model and deserving of the most prominent space in your collection unless you have a some more Aces up your sleeve that you will reveal gradually.

If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit.

Thank you for your kind words, Winston. I had no idea about the description of "furiously detailed". F I E R C E. lol.
The BW sea link is a bloody boon but the 50km/h speed limit (which I religiously follow) is a pain in the behind! Peak hour traffic on Cadell road has reduced ever since Sonia inaugrated it over a year ago. I'm pissed that Dasserra happened to fall on a Sunday. Big Grin

I love a parteh. My cousin once had a Mitsubishi Lancer in similar standox colours, but if I remember correctly, there was more blue in his mix. It turned out to be quite the chick magnet. Smile

Offtopic, Karan that 50 KMPH rule is a real PITA no doubt. The first time I went on that bridge, I religiously followed the rule not going over 55 and slowed down for those stupid speed humps, rattling the suspension in the process. Gradually learnt that going over 80 over the humps, you don't even feel a pimple. So now I do the opposite, speed up while the humps come about.

If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit.
