Arkin's humble 1:18 collection.

Sorry for the delay in posting decent pics of my collection. Blame it on the recurring Windows explorer problems on both my notebooks.
I started collecting 1:18s about 2 months ago, June 28 to be precise. Prior to this, I had a Gray Citroen that my mom gifted me when I was much younger, which is in a dismal state now, as well as a silver Merc SLR that the GM at Toyota gifted me a couple of years ago when I visited the factory. This one is in good condition. After being inspired by a good friend Cyrus, who many might know, I went to ModelART and got myself a wonderful Mercedes Benz 300 SLR, a beautiful model.

I guess I can leave the speaking to some other time and let my models and their pictures speak.

Let me start with my cheapest, and one of my favorite models, as well as my only Motormax. Karan, this is for you.

Love the pics man, thanks for that. As I said earlier, there are a few models of MM which one shouldn't definitely give the pass and the Skylark is just one of them. Looks really huge and classy!!!

20 1:18 models in just 2 months....man, I got to the no. 32 in 2 years!! That's seriously an impressive rate of collecting, your dad must be a generous man

19 actually. I've had the SLR for the past 4 years now. And yes, out of the 6-7 odd MM 1:18s I saw, 2 models of "newer" cars weren't good to look at. The classics and Impalas were nice, except for the steering wheels.

I must admit my dad is a flexible financier.

^^ This is one of those cars that I wouldn't be very keen on adding to my diecast collection but surely would make my head turn again if I spotted one in 1:1. Same goes for the Toyota Celica. I spotted one in my hotel carpark during my Malaysia trip and I spent quite some time with it shooting pics from every angle. It looked simply fabulous while its 1:18 counterpart looks benign before other more prestigious names like the SLR McLaren and the Murcielago.
