LOL, yeah, thankfully, most of us can see through their shenanigans.
![]() This country's car buying public is insatiable, so I'm not surprised that Ford or any other manufacturer would go about sporting the 'Limited edition' phrase at the drop of a hat. |

RE: Suggestions for a 1:1
The new Swift is comin out end of this year.
She's bigger and roomier than the current version. In the sub 5 lakh range, nothing else drives like the Swift- handles and goes like a stink. Get the Swift diesel- I've driven one and like everyone out there worth their money, I'd rate it over the petrol version on VFM and fun to drive factor. It can outrun bigger cars and the turbo kick is addictive. Infact, I'd say that the fuel efficiency is the added bonus cus the Swift D is just so good to drive. If you plan to get one, book now- there's still a 4 month waiting period on the damn thing. |

RE: Suggestions for a 1:1
Recommending a car is the most difficult thing anyone can do. Everyone looks for certain things in the car that everyone else cares more or less about. You got to decide what attracts you to a particular brand and its product. We buy cars hoping that it will give years of good service with as little need for repairs and why not. But do keep in mind the availability of good service and spares wherever you are located.
Personally I like European cars for their build quality but in India they definitely lack good service network. Japanese and Korean cars are good with good fuel economy and after sales, but their cars are not necessarily built the best. When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk. ![]() |

RE: Suggestions for a 1:1
Guys, thanks a lot lot for all those suggestions. However, i made a mistake there about the budget. Our budget is more like 7 lacs. As I was more inclined towards a sedan than an ugly looking compact car, I found 2 good options in my price range would be the Maruti SX4 and the Fiat Linea. Maruti is the clear winner in terms of service as vehemently attested to by Ari and others and I agree 100%. So want to know general opinion about the Linea, has it been successful here and is the Fiat coverage decent?? All in all, which would be the better deal, SX4 or the Linea??
My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston) ![]() picasaweb.google.com/karansharma8783 |
