HELP!!!!
Well, searching for a "value for money" diecast on international ebay, global easybuy and 20north is a big pain in the ass, simply said. I have been doing this for the past don't know how many days looking for the ideal match. But always find a car which I want but which is too costly or find a car which is reasonably priced but not exactly in my wishlist or not in my immediate priority or find a car which I want but is not in the colour I want. I am just about on the verge of going insane. Going through both ebay sites has become an obsession!!! Just to enumerate a few examples, I came across a Welly Jaguar XK Coupe for 3372....now I really want this gorgeous GT car but then get confused whether this is too much to pay for a Welly. I also found a Road Signature Shelby Cobra 427 for about 3000 bucks. But difficult to evaluate all these options for their value for money parameter. Please guys help me out here. I'm seriously stuck here. Often I drop the idea of buying from abroad but then the madness comes back again like a virus!!!

RE: HELP!!!!
Karan my friend....you are not alone. I am on GEB searching for 'cheap' diecast majority of the time while surfing on the net. It is truly very addictive and nothing beats the rush of finding a model that suits your pocket. My cut off point is 2500 Rs. for budget diecast, 3K for midrange and 4K for premiums. I know it is 1000 rs too much for a budget but truly it is the only chance of getting a model that will never come to India in the near future and like Asaran said in his thread, the joy of getting the model in his hand and enjoying it evaporates the (can I say) guilt of the price paid for it. After all you only live once. But do go by your gut feeling.
20North needs a credit card and having none, I avoid it.
Look for the Shelby Collectibles Shelby Cobra as it is said to be more true to the real thing than the Road Signature or Kyosho or Ertl versions. Mine is on the way from the US. It was for around 2900 Rs but a 15% off coupon helped me to get it for around 2.4K.

RE: HELP!!!!
Karan and winstoncds i toatlly agree with you guys .

I share my experinece of collecting almost 100 diecast mostly Autoart or kyosho but i believe we should buy less but buy collectable as by time passes they return values..but that dont mean we buy in hurry we should search on ebay i prefer ebay.com or ebay.ca cos there we get advantage of quantity and bidding and sometimes great shipping prices.

What i can suggest we can share our list of shops or ebay id which i keep on doing all the times.

@Winstoncds : Quick question for as i seen you on other blogs as well and some blogs have ebay windows going on all the time with latest diecast on sale could be possible we can have the same.

RE: HELP!!!!
I am not a pro on online shopping (but crazy), at under 5 models imported so far and less than 50 (1:18) in my collection I am definitely a rookie. Here is my view ebay is kind of costly, why? Because most of these people charge heavy shipping rates for international orders that’s why till date I have no purchase done off ebay. I prefer to buy it directly from vendors as that works out to be cheaper, on American site charge are more(especially the shipping) but Europe and Asian(Korean and Malaysia) site charge reasonably.

These are just my view, correct me if I am wrong.

Saran - always online!

RE: HELP!!!!
^^ Wow, thanks for the update Saran, didn't know diecast sites charged lesser shipping. Could you please tell us some of those sites, especially the Malaysian and European ones coz they would charge even lesser shipping than US sites? Thanks.
