RE: 1:18 Collection(New Models 6)
Congrats on the new additions Ravi. I wonder how your collection keeps growing with such a pace.

Nice Porsche there. Nice color for the cabriolet. The Z4 looks cute and the Merc looks elegant. The Beemer looks cool in silver, especially that 330i.

RE: 1:18 Collection(New Models 6)
Awesome additions there Ravi, I bet you must already be having some other additions in the pipeline!! I love the BMW Z4 coupe, it's an amazing design by BMW, especially love the rear side and the brake lights.
Also, would I be right in saying you are a sedan and coupes fan as I see you getting mostly BMW and Merc sedans. What's the point of getting different versions of BMW like the 3 and the 5 series? To me, all modern day BMW sedans look the same. The only BMW's that are a tad different are the Z3 and the Z4 coupes. Forgive me for asking this but I am totally an exotic fan so find it difficult to understand people splurging on similar-looking sedans by the same manufacturer. In my opinion, BMW enjoys a strong brand identity and invokes strong feelings of luxury and power in people and that is why even different series models are sold in good numbers. Otherwise, when it comes to purely automotive aesthetics and design, BMW doesn't have much to offer. I mean, the aesthetics and the external design are the primary motivators for me when it comes to choosing cars for adding to my collection. Historical significance, till now, hasn't played much role.

RE: 1:18 Collection(New Models 6)
Fantastic Collection of the German Marques, good to see you are quite focussed in what you get, BMW 3,5,7 etc. are different so are the variations in them so its makes sense to collect changes within a class over the years even if they look same to lay person, eg Yamaha YZR M1 looks almost same each year barring color schemes but there are small changes which make them interesting and collection more complete to see the changes over the years.
How many models do you get at each go? and do you have had any trouble with customs ever are they declared as merchandise?

RE: 1:18 Collection(New Models 6)
Amazing additions Ravi.. specially z4 ,if i m not wrong it has retractable top just like 1:1. that looks very impressive. i was once getting this for 50$ but missed it..

@Karan
About getting different versions like 3 and 5 series, i feel they have enough difference to be added in a collections. if this was the case people would buy just couple of porsches and would complete full line-up of porsche. as they all look similar. But then there are people who buy same models in different colors..

also utility of money is different for different people.. what you consider worthless may be good enough for others.
I am sure you'll find people who dont find it worth enough to spend money on what they call 'toy cars'.. but its only you who knows the value of so called 'toy cars'..

RE: 1:18 Collection(New Models 6)
@ Abacus - Actually it was me and not Pratham who raised the point. I do agree with you on utility of money being different for different people. But I'm curious to know some collectors' interests in mostly sedans and coupes and what facet appeals to them. I am not at all mocking anyone who likes to collect sedans, I'm simply curious to know how they developed their taste for sedans, that's all. Also, as far as other brands like Porsche are concerned, I myself intend to get the 911 coupes from every generation. The 911 evolution over the decades is one of the best examples in the automotive world of a singular company philosophy for a basic design which just evolves in bits and pieces over the years. But as far as sedans are concerned, the changes are not that dramatic. For eg, Ari has started his Merc S-class collection right from the first generation and if you see 2 of his models which are successors, the difference is hardly noticeable. As a collection grouped together, the S-Class lineup will look superb, no doubt, but individually, I don't think each car has a unique personality. But that is just my point of view, a guy who is madly in love with radical and controversial exotic car designs like the Countach, the Enzo and the Zonda. Maybe acquiring tastes for subtler design aspects like Mercs and BMW's will take some more time.

RE: 1:18 Collection(New Models 6)
I just got one thing to say- Carmen Elektra. (bow down. respect. Big Grin)
She is the same person who can look different in a bikini with hair tied up, in a long black dress with her hair straight down, in greasy trainers with tousled up hair.. wearing nothing with her hair everywhere.

Same Eleketrah - but you still want her. Tongue
