The name is Yumm Five.
Defination of BMW M5: Enough room for you, your family and your dog, a boot big enough to take their stuff, and not to forget enough power to humiliate that dude in his low-slung sports car, sounds like a great recipe? You bet it is, it is called Yumm Five.
Finally picked my fifth 1:18 scale model and coincidently it is a five, BMW M5. Though this model was not on my immediate wish list but picked it up because got a good deal and just loved the color, though I am still not sure what color exactly this is. The fit and finish of the model is pretty okay, though there few panel gaps here and there but you cant have your cake and it eat too for mere 1375 Rs. (1100 Rs in my case). Paint finish is one of the best, which I have seen on any of the Maisto models. Headlights are very nicely done but treatment of kidney grills could have been better. This is no attempt to write a review or something, these are just few minor observations on my part. Few pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

RE: The name is Yumm Five.
Bandhav........THAT IS SOME COLOUR MAN!!!!! I'm out of words, the pale blue coloured M5 version from Maisto looks like a sick jaundiced version of this one. This colour is total drool maal bhai!!! The 2nd and 3rd pics are just superb, the M5 looks absolutely gorgeous!!!! How and where did you get this colour buddy??? And I won't comment on your photography brother....you make a budget Maisto model look like the real thing.
My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston) ![]() picasaweb.google.com/karansharma8783 |

RE: The name is Yumm Five.
^^I think i was plain lucky with this one, this was the only piece lying apart from few 1:24s from where I picked it. The color is the main reason why I picked this one, I think Maisto has created this unique shade because i failed to find this shade on the real E60 M5.

RE: The name is Yumm Five.
amazing car.. great color..
only thing i dont like is marks of studs on head and taillights. this is a common problem in budget models.. can't they just paste them permanently.. |

RE: The name is Yumm Five.
Bandhav, your photography really flatters the model. BMW never made this color. The closest brown they had was Sepang Bronze and it is on a completely different page of the shade card that Maisto was referring to.
When Maisto announced the M5, I was really overjoyed. I was hoping it would be something like their CLS, SOLID VFM model. But i was really disappointed with their effort. The BMW M5 is a halo carĀ® of performance sedans and nothing but the best would do. If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit. ![]() |
