What are the best ways to showoff your priced possession ?

Put a huge display in your hallway(if your wifee agrees), dedicate a room and fill all the walls with cars and bikes or put it in a turntable and have some real movement to attract eyeballs. But the easiest and the cost effect way to showoff is via net!

What if your want to show your models to your neighbors or your cousins and wow them. Share your display ideas and views and experiences (pros and cons).

Normally i don't showoff my models because people around me don't appreciate these babies much...they say, these are waste of money.

apart from the net, my parents, my uncle & my cousin i don't show my models to anyone & these are carefully placed in a showcase in my room.

if you want to wow someone, create a good diorama & place the models there in your hall....maybe.

I agree with you on the appreciation part, but that is only a part of my problem. Kids(and kid minded) who live around who visit my house (in my absences actually) and try to keep their hands on whatever they can which unfortunately includes my collection. So I made 3 level show arrangement – first one is a small 1:32 compatible case put on the hall, the second is a 2 wooden (floating shelf) right above my workstation which usually has 4 to 6 models and the final one is actually a closet where I removed few shelf and place 6 planks of glass and stored most of my priced collection. Access to the last display can be acquired only on my presence (kind of super private).

I know it is so stupid to hide your collection but I feel collection is personal satisfaction (preserving the possession is more important than showing off). I am working on achieving both, but that will take years of R&D and miles of creativity.

And Amit, post some pics of your showcase I am intrested in seeing your setup.

That's a good idea and nice showcases you have there. i feel these babies should only be shown to those people who knows the real value, who will appreciate it from a to z. that's why i preserve them well.
