^^ Damn right!!

My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston)

Good one mate Smile

I dunno which bunch of tramping rampaging pillaging moronic idiots run Hot Wheels in India.
Apparently they were planning a re entry with HW 1:18 diecast cars, however were deterred by the lack of success of their earlier foray.

They have themselves to blame- the prices, back then, for the older cars was way over the competition and the quality of 70% of the models in their lineup then wasn't up to mark. As a reference- the non elite Enzo cost 3.5k in those times when you could buy an autoart of better quality for the same price or lesser.

They did make fine F1 cars of Schumi's 2003 Ferrari n the Renault R25. However, most people in those times were even more value consciousness than today and the sales didn't really pick up. Even today you can find a few HW models from 2003-04 stocked at a few retailers with no takers.

Being one of the oldest toy brands in India, its a pity they couldn't read the market sentiment back then and are oblivious of it even now.

To cut a very long story short- they suck.

RE: Ferrari models from HotWheels
I had got that Enzo at nearly half price then, Elite 1/18 Ferrari's needed , everyone is now aware of Ferrari small kids and all so shifting these models wouldn't be much challenge at right price point not higher than what is available at ebay. Veyron on Indian roads is a poor joke on that car any roads around for opening it bit just a big Ego massage for the few who would drive one.

Offtopic: The Veyron is priced at $1,700,000. Why would one spend that much of money to travel on or Indian roads when they can own a helicopter and fly from one place to another (that too at 1/4th of that price).

A decent sikorssky chopper comes in beteeen $275,000 to $800,000.

Atleast, you wont get hit by a brake-failed battered Tata LP truck driven by a drunkard!
