Ferrari Testarossa
If you guys remember that somewhere on the forum i mentioned that "Testarossa" is one ferrari which i have some history with and in case you memory is not helping you check this out.But you must be wondering why all this introduction and all or you may already guess
by now. Yes you have guessed it right i have picked one for myself, and because i am posting it here it has to be of scale kind. And in this case its 1:24 Bburago.I found this in one of the nearby toy shop (more details can be found in the city update thread), lying boxless beneath few other scale model in serious bad condition. The front windscreen is broken, the right wash wiper is not there anymore, wheels are not steerable with steering anymore, paint has lost its sheen and to make it worse its chipped at number of places, but so bloody what. I still picked up, becasue the name was good enough "Testarossa". Though i used this miserable condition of the model to bring the price down to 250 INR. Now while i have already procured it i want the help of you guys to restore this beauty to its old glory atleast partially. Please pour your suggestions/instructions in. ![]() ![]()

RE: Ferrari Testarossa
And i was thinking that this is some find, but such royal ignore by fellow members is making believe that its otherwise.
Between i have fixed the steering, interior has been cleaned, and after the polishing bike is shining a bit. |

RE: Ferrari Testarossa
Any car that you find hidden under tonnes of others is indeed a find and congratulations on getting this car you have always loved. It looks like that you have always had to work on your 'Rossas.
Bandhav, I seen the topic and didn't reply earlier. Frankly speaking, the Testarossas in any form are the least of my favorite Ferraris. Infact they don't even count in the favorites. So please excuse my silence. If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit. ![]() |

RE: Ferrari Testarossa
Hey come on Winston, how can you even say that? The Testarossa is one of the most attractive Ferraris ever made, it was there as THE signature Ferrari when I was a kid and even now, it's one of the most different looking Ferraris. I really love the "horizontal stripes band" theme on the entire car with it visible in the front, rear and side portions of the car. Especially the rear part!!!
My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston) ![]() picasaweb.google.com/karansharma8783 |

RE: Ferrari Testarossa
The rear part is what I really dislike. It ends so abruptly. All swoopy on the sides and thwackkkkk.... the designer reversed it into a brick wall. Give me the gorgeous lines of the 288 GTO any day. Thats a Ferrari I love.

RE: Ferrari Testarossa
Wow.. this is some sort of 'barn-find' of scale model!
TR defined the Ferrari of '80s - no rounded rear lamps (the other one is the much unloved 348). One feature that i liked of this model is the way the installed the side mirror on the early version - in the middle of the A-pillar. The first time I saw this car in flesh, I thought the rear is wider than a 3-ton lorry! 2 Ferraris that I like: 288GTO for the looks 250LM for the sound |

RE: Ferrari Testarossa
You are pretty true about the rear part, there is vast difference between the front and rear track. Looking from above it almost look like a rocket.
Update: I am going to convert the interior from beige to black. |

RE: Ferrari Testarossa
You could do a two tone interior with red accents for the seats.
