I kind of missed the huge amount of posts per day that you achieve here. Made me refresh SMC page a whole lot of times in a day. Hope your trip was a success and also hope that you get some 1:18 Welly's in the near future Big Grin

Hey thanks karan, was away on a 9 day ride to maharashtra, so was offline. The ride was good, will post details about it soon. Yeah, i wish i can get to see some 1:18 yummy wellys here sometime in future. Man, you should take up writing reviews as full time work, you manage to bring out things very well about the models. I love reading your reviews of scalemodels.Do keep writing man Smile

Hey thanks man, I think I have learned a bit on writing reviews from the posts by Diablo. It really gives me immense pleasure in writing reviews. This is the platform where I can freely post my opinions on any diecast I purchase and I know it will be read and appreciated. You should look at some of the reviews written by foreign diecast collectors. We have nothing here on SMC. You will actually wonder the amount of passion they have for this hobby after reading some of their reviews.

Reviews make a great resource for collectors planning to add a model in the future and nothing is more helpful than a honest review to help someone make up their minds. Good or bad, it helps someone to decide how much they are ready to accept or forego in a particular model. 90% of my expensive models have come home based only on the reviews I read from fellow collectors.

Diablo Wrote:Wow! So finally we get to see the elusive Diablo. Congrats Karan. Thats really a very fine model. Regarding the front ride height, if the Welly uses springs in the front suspension, you might have to disassemble the model and cut one or two coils off the springs to get it to the right ride height.

Well, finally I tried to see what the problem was with the front ride height of the Diablo and opened her up a bit and got this result :

It seems it doesn't have any coiled springs for suspension which I could cut off to decrease the front ride height. All it has is a plastic stub onto which the wheel arrangement fits and it is put in place by the difference in radius of the plastic stub. Any idea Winston, how to fix this. I would have to decrease the length of the thicker upper portion of the stub so that the wheels could go up further than now to lessen the ride height. Maybe, I will have to live with the slightly ungainly stance of the Diablo.

That looks like a real PITA arrangement and like you rightly said, the upper portion of the stub is the kill joy. The really difficult part is to get both sides to the same height if you could shave off the offending portion of the stub.

Yeah right, but how do I exactly go about shaving off the thicker part of the stub, which is made of plastic? Will a kitchen knife do the job?

Dude....I know it is frustrating but you please don't get anything with a sharp edge near your models. Plastic is a dog and if something bad happens, the bite remains with you forever. I don't even know where we can begin with this thing because I am not good at such things. Maybe you will get an idea here....http://www.briansmodelcars.com/tutorials/index

Nice pics Karan. The Welly looks definitely on par with the Autoart model in these pics.

Nice shots karan, the diablo looks like it's expensive autoart cousin! Btw, what do you use as base for these pics? (the white thing under car) is that a pillow or wall? (wierd guesses ain't it? Big Grin)
