RE: Diecast scale model CARs at www.DreamCarModels.com
Ari & Winston, thank you for defending me but then “Guys its ok for Karan or any one to put such questions, no harm in it man.” And then the good part is I get to learn from all this.

Well, Karan, both of them are right- the scale and some detailing cannot always be upto mark in these economy brands. What I have realized is that each manufacturer is good or very good in some type of models and in others their low quality can surprise you, even Auto Art and Minichamps.

This BMW X5 by Bburago might lack in terms of extra gap between the arch and wheel but then the metallic paint finish is so good (at least for me) that it looks attractive not just from distance but close inspection as well. Now whether it is out of scale or not can only be confirmed by comparing the 1:1 dimensions with this model in 1:18 scale. There is one thing though, the front grill seating in the metal bonnet could have been a bit better/finer. But overall, the piece is recommended to be bought by SUV lovers.

Ps- Guggga can confirm I have always provided him correct info about models in stock with us, especially related to door gaps and paint finish. The final decision lies with the buyer.
Buddies don’t treat me purely as a reseller. Smile

Diablo Wrote:Karan, relax man! It is a budget model and a little work can get it right even if it isn't. The model looks very nice by itself. I really don't think KV has to go and answer everyone about the kind of goods he is selling and you certainly cannot call him out for that. You want spot on detailing, keep aside 6250 rs and get a Kyosho. Even Kyoshos aren't all that accurate and their QC is nothing to write home about even after paying big money for them.

aritrim Wrote:Kyoshos come with horrible paint blisters, that is worse than a mal-scale. Not all people can really make out out-of-scale but even a kid can see those chicken pox marks on the paints.

Karan,
We should just accept a budget model as-is. That is why they are budget models. The reason, Exotos, BBR, Lane cost a bomb is nothing but attention to detail and a larger number of assembly parts. But then from a 10 feet distance, they are all the same. The choice of getting a model or a brand is entirely upto you. I do not have bburagos, welly or will never buy kyoshos due to my personal taste, but I will gladly buy a minichamps evn if it comes as a 1:16 instead of 1:18.

It is completely, out of scope to ask a dealer/seller about these. may be you can just complain to bburago directly.

Diablo and Aritrim, thanks for pointing out my folly. I was wrong in querying KV about the quality of the model when my questions should have been directed at the manufacturer.

Ari, nice point about the budget models. I guess I overlooked the fact that the Burago X5 is indeed a budget model and something as small as wheel-arch gap is quite acceptable from brands like Maisto and Welly. We should really be quite dissatisfied when we come across serious QC issues in brands like Autoart or Kyosho.

KV, sorry if I came across in the wrong way. To be honest, while writing my doubts about the X5, I was treating you as a reseller and not as another diecast enthusiast. But thanks and kudos to your sportsmanship Smile I agree 100% with you on the X5's paintwork. The finishing and the gloss is top-notch and makes the SUV really attractive. As for the scale part, I was seeing the details of the X5 by Burago on http://www.carmodel.net and the scale on that site is mentioned 1:19. I guess that resolves the scale issue. Atleast Burago are being honest about it.

My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston)

Thanks for the reply KV. We certainly appreciate the honesty you shown but that just proves you are a hobbyist first and a reseller later. You guys must know http://www.scale18.com run by a bloke called Kevin. He actually puts on the scale of the model cars on his site no matter what Burago or Maisto have to say. While Burago does say 1:16 or 1:20 for some models, they conveniently forget to mention that for others.

Karan no fault or folly of yours. We all come here to learn something new about the hobby but at this time I felt we were wrong in asking KV for justification of his product. But the gentleman that he is, KV has put aside all these fears. He is truly a collector first and a seller later. With people like him, the hobby is in good hands. More power to you KV.

Model Description:
Doors Open, Bonnet Opens, Trunk Opens, Wheels Steer, Wheels Roll, Made of High Quality Diecast.

History of actual vehicle:
The Maserati Spyder GT was produced by Italian automaker Maserati from 2002 to 2007. They have now been replaced by the GranTurismo. The car is based on the 3200 GT, which was sold in Europe, but not in the United States. The Coupé and Spyder are both commonly referred to as the 4200 GT, which is an evolution of the prior model name and a reference to the increase in engine displacement from 3.2 L (3217 cc) to 4.2 L (4244 cc). The Spyder was first unveiled to the public at the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show. The release of the Spyder heralded Maserati's return to the North American market after an 11 year hiatus. Almost as soon as it was introduced, the Spyder was selected by Forbes as the Best GT for 2001.
