Hey Kv, you don't necessarily need a DSLR for good pics, any good proconsumer camera will do, all it has to have are manual settings. Tripod is added advantage, else you can manage with out it, it's useful though in low light/low shutter speed shots.

You are right, I usually get good resutls with my consumer ready Nikon but for close-ups and manual settings (for low shutter speed shots) I feel tripod is a must now.

KVSK4 btw what cam do u have ?

and yes buy a good tripod. and i havent used tripod coz i dont have it. holding the cam in right position gets good pics

Thanks for the help Alan, now I see the proper way to hold the digital still camera. This position is bit difficult for me because I have to bend a lot due to the car model placed on a low height chair.

Now if feel I need to have a proper stand for placing the car at appropriate height as well as a tripod for some extreme shots. And more than all this I need to study the camera manual in detail first. This is something we usually miss after buying an electronic instrument.

I use a Nikkon 4 megapixel camera which i bought more than 4 years back. Don’t know the exact specs but will soon read the manual.

Better buy a new DSC...4MP not enough to get atleast good quality pics.

if u are looking for the low budget dsc let me know,so that i'll find the best in your budget.
