RE: A beginner's guide to collecting scale models
I am collecting miniature toys / models from my childhood, almost for the last 18 years. I used to collect all sort of models in all scale ratios, now I stick to 1:43 in cars and 1:64 for trucks and collect only hand build models and antique metal models.
If you are a begineer you can try few hand build models...they are costly but worth buying. Good thing is the value of these models appreciate with time.

This is just a natural progression to satisfy our instincts. Isn't the fun in the hunt? Don't you feel happy when you have hunted down the ever elusive model car and gone in for the kill? Some people will just be agriculturists which is definitely not a bad thing. Being a farmer is the greatest and noblest of all professions. But they don't know where the real fun is. Big Grin

I know a farmer who collects insecticides. And has got some real rare stuff. I sourced a small bottle of an insecticide called Hamla-500 from him. To drive away ants. He mentioned that applying Hamla-500 to ants is like dropping atom bomb to humans. And he was true.

The next time I went for another bottle, he asked what do I have for him (money hell NO!, what insecticide have you got for an exchange?) Since I had nothing, he did not bother instead gave me an advice. Not to enter the world of insecticides. And spray Baygon or Mortein (Which are actually cans of water in his meter).
