Flat Tyres!

Flat Tyres!
I've just finished my sixth (this year) cars clean-up last week.

To my horror, when I rolled my Autoart 911 GT3 RSR, the car is rattling on the flat marble floor!

So I checked my other Autoart cars - most of the cars with thick high-profile tyres (Miura SV, Merc E320, even Ford GT) were affected.

Now I'm thinking of some solutions (other than rolling the tyres every month - I'm sure my son will like this!):
1. putting a carpet on the car display cabinet
2. put a stand under the car - so the tyres won't touch the glass/wood.
3. put them back into their boxes!

So guys, my I advise you all to check your cars condition - before it's too late..

Gave me a heart attack almost. Any pics - what is the actual reason for this?

RE: Flat Tyres!
Seen this on my heavier Autoarts. The BMW M635CSi has the flat tires. My Maistos, UTs and Buragos have escaped this phenomena. Maybe because their tire compounds are harder compared to the more softer Autoart rubber.

When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

RE: Flat Tyres!
Oh my god....I think my only Autoart, the '67 Ford Mustang might also get affected by this disease. She's really heavy and the tires are not solid on the inside, you can actually press them from both sides right to the core. This is bad, hard to believe it occurring in an Autoart.

My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston)

RE: Flat Tyres!
So i have done the right thing with my 1:18s then. I haven't taken them out of the boxes or their base plastic stands, that way the tyres are suspended in air and don't take weight. Also the models stay dust free even inside the display cabinets.

RE: Flat Tyres!
i have been facing the same problem for years, so now what i am doing is taking them out (specially the heavier ones) twice or thrice a week and keeping them back to their places & this has somehow solved the problem.

RE: Flat Tyres!
I just hope these flat spots will not be permanent.

Can some one please post pics of the Flat tyres?
Also is this issue limited only to Autoart and not for maistos and buragos?
What about scales? only 1:18s face this issue or even 1:24 scale face this issue? I removed few 1:24 assembly kit cars from their boxes 2 days back and have kept them on display inside the cabinet, so want to know if it affects the chota vehicles too.

RE: Flat Tyres!
Guys,

I couldn't take the pic, because it is not really apparent to the naked eyes. You can feel it 'rattling' when you roll the car slowly on a very flat surface..
