Diecast Buses
Hi has anyone here collecting the Buses ,. In the UK there are quite a number of hobbyists who largely collect Buses but I think here in our India there are very few collectors for buses if not none. I am interested in collecting buses, I wish there are some ppl making bus models of the state RTC s or regular city buses like those of BEST Double Decker etc.

RE: Diecast Buses
Hi Mike and welcome to SMC.
Model car collecting is a niche hobby and buses are a niche within that niche. To give you an example, Gift Centre (which I frequently plug about in here but am no way connected with ) has a couple of buses collecting dust for the past few years. They are (probably) made by Corgi and available in different liveries and models. I was almost tempted to get one but since I didn't know nothing about them, I didn't venture any further. I would definitely like to add a Volvo B7R though since I have travelled a couple of times in them and have come very impressed. If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit. ![]() |

RE: Diecast Buses
The Routemaster that GC had was for 16K. The original red bus. Man! I wish I had that kind of moolah to spare.
I remember I have a 1:87 Mercedes Benz Neoplan in my showcase. Here it is. I think it is made by Realtoy and I got it for 99 bucks at a discount sale in Landmark. Nowadays they are priced at 350 Rs. which is really day light robbery for it. Also available in 2 or 3 different liveries.

RE: Diecast Buses
Hard to make out its a 1:87 if you did not mention. I bought one of those 1:64s by matchbox, but most probably it isn't a Volvo. Being a big time bus fan, I really one of those Sunstart Routemasters, specially a red one!
