Bad luck man, that too with autoart am surprised. Do get it exchanged soon. Do post interior pics. This car has lot of straight lines, no curves, different from other models.

karansharma8783 Wrote:Forgive me for saying this Ayie, but what did you see in this car? I am guessing you must be a huge sedan fan to go for this one and a Volvo at that!!

Hahahaa.. Karan, I know what you meant. Yeah I am a huge fan of cars that looks normal, but packing a real motor beneath.

There are many guise and grade of the 850 series volvo. This particular model 850R is one model unexpected from a manufacturer of 'sober' cars like Volvo. This 850R is like... a 'drunken' version of all 850s. That's why I like it.

Actually I'm waiting for the 'drunken momma' version from Autoart - the 850R Wagon. This particular was sold (officially by Volvo) in my country last time, alongside the garden variety 850s. It DEFINED the term wolf in sheep clothing!

I remember seeing one in 'live action' on the highway, chased by an E36 328i. When the passed me, together with the sound of the engine -all kind of 'hissing/spitting/popping' that only a turbo engine can do when kick-down - it even didn't have a chance to wave the E36 behind it while leaving briskly towards the horizon. Imagine - a mommy wagon with large mudflaps and dog nets leaving an ultimate driving machine in an instant drag race.

How cool is that?

Winston,

Now I understand what you meant having a sleepless night over some problem on the cars. I m feeling it now, and I'm sure our partners will be very jealous if they know how we feel..

I got this one from Maneesh. Spoken to him yesterday, and he will try to find replacement. But today morning he informed me, since all of them were sold, I have to wait for another one from a new shipment in 2-3 month time. Or exchange it with any other model from the list.

Well, I rather wait. Nothing on the list pumped my adrenaline like this 850R did. I almost bought another same volvo 850R yesterday at nikhils when I saw the car there is perfect - I just want to get out of this crazy feeling...!

Vaas,

All volvos from 70-90s (except maybe the C70 coupe)are straight & without curve. Heck, they even nick-named them 'brick'!

I'll try to take the interior pic when all my children gone to sleep tonight! I got a beautiful interior, with '850' logos on the carpet, plus many warning decals.

RE: My Other Ladies (update 26th Aug)
Sorry to hear that Ayie. Hopefully Manish can get you a replacement sooner than that. You should write to Autoart and ask them for a replacement mirror and hopefully they should have one in stock since they have just started making this model. This is the only way for them to redeem themselves.
The 850 wagon is very much the car I would love too. It won races in the BTCC if I am not mistaken and they used to even stick a stuffed toy dog in the rear window of the car. Cheeky and how. Autoart should definitely make that model. The USP of the 850T is its quirky looks. Car reviewers used to comment that the Volvos were designed on Etch-a-Sketchs. If you can have only one station wagon in the collection, the 850T is the station wagon to have. Then there is also the Mercedes E55 AMG wagon and the BMW M5 touring but thats another story.

When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

Ayie, I see in 1st collection pic you posted that you also have the Autoart white Lambo Countach. Could you pls pls post some nice detailed pics of that one? I can tell you that I have a lot of wanted diecasts in my wishlist but the Autoart Countach is THE definitive holy grail model for me.

Hi all,

Got some time last weekend. Out come the A200 camera, and using the cars (what else!) as object, try to capture pictures in the middle of the night.

The boxes of the 1:18 so far.

Wow Ayie, what can I say, the collection just looks delicious!!! Amazing, I might be nearing the number of 1:18 boxes you have but even then, there are so many of these which I too want in my collection. And that's the beauty of this hobby, you just go on and on, there simply is no end!!

I also love the way you have stacked all the boxes together. The Autoart boxes especially look attractive because of the side profiles of all the diecasts they feature. Nice!!!

Edit : Is the green Shelby Cobra really by Signature models? If it is, then I must start searching for it immediately. Siggies don't usually cost that high and I'm sure the Cobra must not be more than 2000 bucks, correct me if I'm wrong, Ayie.
