Update on models available in your cities
Here is a list of models available in Landmark bookstore in Infiniti mall in Andheri West, Mumbai
Bburago (1:18)
Maserati coupe (black)
Maserati convertible (grey)
Dodge Viper (yellow with red stripes)
Porsche 911 (993) convertible (red)
Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (dark grey)
Lamborghini Diablo (orange...paint problems)
Alfa Romeo 8C (black...paint problems)

Lots of 1:24 models including Bugatti Atlantic (silver...but I find the blue ones more desirable), Lamborghini Countach in white, Fiat 500 (Bari to Pechino) and a lot of which I cannot remember now.

There was also a Maisto Mercedes Benz 500 K in red.

Lots of bikes in 1:18. Also happened to see a similar Indian that Bandhav has and I was blown away by the sheer size of it. Its humongous. My two year old nephew wouldn't think twice before sitting on it.
Lots of other nice models in various scales. So if you are in Bombay, you know where to go if you need the above models.
Lots of nice books on cars and bikes too in their books section.

Please post here if you would like to update your fellow city-zens about models you seen in shops you visited.

When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Vasanth, the good old classic by Maisto which you have forgotten the name of might be the Citroen 6 cylinder. It's a good piece by Maisto and I had seen it many times when I was working in Pune but had let it go as I was not into vintages back then.

The McLarens in Sapphire Toys - are they the F1 models or the original road-going supercars??

Which Signature have you bought, don't tempt us by telling "will post a thread soon", just do it!!!!

My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston)

Bang on karan! This is the oldie classic i had seen:
http://k3rjb.com/area51/images/31821-00000001.gif
I loved it's raw charm and oldie looks and with all four doors opening, for a maisto it was too good to be true. But with out discount i didn't want to buy it as it seemed to have been dropped from shelves lot of times seeing it's box Sad
The Mclarens i was talking about were the merc two two seater sports cars, with the bonnet opening like the 118 ne.

Sorry about the delay in starting a new thread, haven't found time to click pics of the classic oldie, will definitely post up by weekend Smile

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Vas, that is the McLaren Mercedes Benz SLR. Even my heart skipped a beat or two when you said 2 McLarens. I was hoping that by some miracle they would be UT models.
Vas, that car is the Citroen Traction Avant and it was one of the most advanced car of its time. It was the first Citroen to have front wheel drive too and this allowed the car to be low cause of the absence of the drive shaft to the rear wheels.

oops sorry for goofup, i didn't mention the mclarens properly. Yeah, those are the merc mclarens i was talking about, grey with red seats, the finishing was not good. Thanks for the details on citroen diablo, i would have loved to have it in my garage, but commonsense prevailed and i didn't pick it up as i didn't want to pay MRP price for a abused piece.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
No problem Vas. I actually love the grey SLR. The red seats are a bonus because the earlier release just had bland light grey seats. This is actually a huge improvement.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
But the finishing of these cars were bad, the edges were rough and near the front grill area i could see extra plastic pieces (from the mould) over all the fit and finish was not good, same case with their Audi too Sad
