RE: Update on models available in your cities
Hey are these discounts in Central mall, Lifestyle and Pantaloons in all their stores across India? My midterms are over today and we have the next few days entirely off......I hope i get some decent choices with discounts at Indore Central and Lifestyle!!!
My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston) ![]() picasaweb.google.com/karansharma8783 |

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Well I did visited several malls in the city today and that too alone (exclusively went to city for diecast hunting). Here are some diecast I came across :
1. Pantaloons - Maisto 1:18 lambo murcielago and gallardo superleggera (no discount, discount over by this sunday) 2. Indore Central - Bburago 1:18 jaguar mark II, dodge viper gts, porsche 911 cabriolet, porsche 356 cabriolet, lambo murcielago, mercedes-benz 300sl gullwing, mercedes-benz ssl and a few more which I can't recall 3. Toy Corner - Bburago 1:18 lambo miura, bugatti EB 110, lambo murcielago roadster, lambo diablo, bmw z4 I bought the yellow Bburago 1:18 Lamborghini Miura and the Bburago 1:18 assembly kit Mercedes-Benz 300SL Touring. Highlight of the day - I went to Aditya's house (aka McLaren member of SMC) and saw his beautiful collection. He had all James Bond Aston Martins from Autoart, Bugatti Veyron, Rolls Royce, Cadillacs.....plus a few 1:18 models which he wanted to sell off like the Maisto Shelby Series 1, Maisto Dodge Challenger Concept, Autoart Aston Martin DB5 plus a few more. Thanks Aditya for your time. My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. RE: Update on models available in your cities
Congratulations on the new gets Karan. The 300 SL is a fun to put together and if you find some velvet paper around, you could do a little carpeting on the model. The Jaguar Mk II is a fine model but sadly 1:20 in scale or else the black looks fantastic on it.
Fantastic thing you could meet another hard core collector in Aditya and see his collection. I have yet to have such pleasure. It must have been a great day discussing models. If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit. ![]() |

Man we needs pics! 300SL 1:18 assembly kit must be fun, i haven't seen any 1:18 kits here though. Congrats on your new acquisitions. Did you manage to get a discount on these? It's fun when two scalemodel collectors meet, even better when you get to see each others collection! You must have enjoyed your "scalemodel" day

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Oh well checked out Shoppers stop bangalore (bannerghatta road outlet) on Saturday and found that they aren't offering any discounts on scalemodels
They didn't have much diecasts either, 2 abused Bmw Coupes, one porsche cayman (maisto 1:18) couple of assembly kits and few bikes, that's about it. BUTThey had a NEW lot 1:12 maisto bike! BMW HP2 Sport! It was priced at Rs 400 import month showed July 2009, looks like maisto 1:12 bikes are going to be pricier now on, they used to cost Rs 375 earlier. Anyways, there is no cure to this addiction, so bought it ![]() Then my eyes chanced upon 1:18 (hold your breath) Tomahawk! It was gorgeous (fugly ) Even though i don't collect 1:18 bikes i picked this one up as this isn't available in bigger scales. Now the funny thing is the imported date shows as 2004 on the box! but the box is brand new! Also it costed Rs 250 compared to earlier price of Rs 225 of same scale Have taken few pics, will post pics of both the bikes soon ![]() Seeing the BMW, i think Maisto's new bikes are already in Market, sadly i gotto wait till next month before checking out landmark/sapphiretoys/model art for these as i splurged on 2 Caterpillar boots in shoppers stop, they were selling them at 40% discount So bangy people who want CAT boots, rush to Shopper stop!

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Congratulations on the new additions Vasanth. The Tomahawk shares its 8L V10 engine with the Dodge Viper RT10. So now it is evident that you have to add a Dodge Viper to your collection.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
At the risk of getting swine flu, I risked my life for the diecast cause and visited the malls (Hypercity, Landmark, Shoppers Stop, Crosswords) today. The efforts have gone in vain and I hope I have not caught the virus in the bargain. Nothing. nought. nada. Same @@@@. Different day.
