RE: Update on models available in your cities
That's quite strange coz I have the SLR McLaren by Maisto in black (and the bland grey interiors). No paint issues at all, in fact the paintwork is quite good and has a fine, regular glint all over.

I was also excited a bit to know that McLarens are available here in India. Those would be real treasures for a supercar lover like me. And Mclaren is one model that both Maisto and Bburago haven't tried their hands on.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Karan, Maisto did make the McLaren F1 but they were never brought to India. You will still find some for sale on Ebay.com . This model was made before 1999, so expect it not to be of as good quality as Maisto make them now.
Minichamps is about to release the McLaren F1 again in the next few months. So save up for that. You would want to add it in as many colors they make it in. It is a huge improvement over the UT model.

Minichamps would make a huge dent in my savings not to mention the international shipping charges.....perhaps we should relocate to Europe for a year or two and splurge on all we can find!!!!

The McLaren is the only Minichamps I would want. Hoping that it releases in time when a cousin is due to come back to India from the US.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Vaas, awesome news man!!! Thanks a ton, Welly is slightly better I think when compared to Maisto and a lot better than Bburago. I had seen a 1:18 Lambo Diablo in blue by Welly during one of my trips to Kolkata. I still kick myself for not buying it. And the price was also competitive, it was of 1500. This is great news because other than Maisto and Bburago there are no other economically priced models to be had in 1:18 range.

Edit : I had also seen the Jaguar S-Type in 1:18 from Welly in bright red, didn't bother to examine up close since I already have it from Maisto.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Oh no Karan. Why didn't you get that Lambo. Its a superb mould and way better than either the Maisto or Burago Diablos. I think and this is only a wild guess that Welly's mould of the Diablo is the same that Autoart used for their Diablo. I could be very wrong here but that Welly is a keeper.

RE: Update on models available in your cities
I went thru some pics of Welly models on their website and also on picasa, there's one distinctive feature in these models different from Maisto and Bburago. Welly models usually have complete door frames and even glasses in the side windows in some of their models, particularly in the diablo sv. This is a luxurious feature when it comes to Maisto and Bburago. In fact, AutoArt incorporates this feature in majority of their models.

I went thru Welly's website and made a Welly 1:18 wishlist :

porsche 964 turbo
lambo miura sv
lambo diablo sv
1970 ford mustang boss 302
jaguar xk coupe
1968 chevrolet camaro z28
1970 chevrolet el camino
1968 chevrolet chevelle ss
1948 chevrolet fleetmaster (woody)
1951 ford pickup

RE: Update on models available in your cities
Karan, do you remember which shop in Calcutta you happen to see the Diablo. Perhaps Ari could get it. We cannot let go a Diablo go waste.
