I;d rather suggest u keep the bonnet on the car... like the DRM (German Touring Car) racer... just lift it off when u need too.

it'll look cool Tongue
this is what guggga is talking about. this is my mustang with the hood entirely removed...you can put it back if you want to. the engine is totally out...looks cool.Xyxthumbs

RE: Fixing broken parts in diecasts
^^ Amit, thanks mate. The Mustang looks great without her hood man Smile

Yea Alan, see, if you can keep the hood as a separate piece, it'll not only be convenient to take on or off, but also- it's gonna look great on the car- just like the German DTM cars Smile

Cheers!

RE: Fixing broken parts in diecasts
Reviving a very old thread coz I need help again Tongue It seems that it's in my fate to have only defective Signature models in my collection. The '38 Cadillac Fleetwood that I got from Calcutta has broken hinges on 2 of its doors, one in the front left door and the other on the rear right one Sad Plus the model has uneven paintwork and slight blemishes on its hood. I was a fool not to notice all this before buying otherwise I would badgered the guy to give me a hefty discount. As it is the Wonderland Toys guy is a class A miser and after much haggling, gave me a measly discount of 93 bucks on a total purchase of about 6400 Sad Sad Anyways, this bitching apart, here are the pics of the broken hinges and would appreciate it if anyone could tell me how to go about fixing this. Thanks!!

RE: Fixing broken parts in diecasts
Karan, if it is what I am seeing, it looks like an easy fix. Just cut out some paper pin to the exact length required and insert it into the hinges. Remember to keep the pinhead on top. I am hoping the inner diameter of the hinge is equal to the thickness of the pin.

^^ Exactly what I was thinking, will work brilliantly if the pin can get in there Smile
