RE: Help me to create Break Caliper
Thanks sid
. @ Alanjg: you can either make a brake disc from a used coke can and also cut out a caliper from the same. But I have got a better Idea 1.) for Disc - there are shims available in the market (which are less than 1 mm in thickness and also available in various thickness too) they are in shiny stainless steel, hop around and you may get the right inside and outside diameter one. For the Brake pipe use a thin black wire for the rice lights (the chinese diwali lights). At the end towards the caliper paint it silver to mimic the end connector. If you want to mimic spring on top of brake pipe curl a silver wire strand from any electrical cable, that will give just the right look. Now for the caliper, you can either carve a kidney bean shape from a styrene sheet. Other idea is to use the "salma sitaras" which come in all shape and sizes from a fancy store, I think you will get a bean shape and round ones too (to mimic the piston bores). To give the necessay thickness you might need to glew 3 -4 ones togather. I hope I have given good idea on the stuff. If you need any further help please let me know. |

If nothing turns up I will assemble back the cobra as is with fewer mods. |
