11th Auto Expo - 5th-6th Jan 2012 - The two best days of my life!

I will be using this thread for sharing my experience at the 2012 Auto Expo by sharing pictures from the same.

I have no words to describe the time I had.
The best Auto Expo experience yet!
Special thanks to Mercedes-Benz India for making it so special, the VIP Star Lounges Invites.

I will start with what this forum is dedicated to, yes, scale models. And later to the 1:1 machines.
There were a lotta scale models on display & sale at many different pavilions & stalls.
Everything from budget brands to high-end ones were available.
Manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, Chevrolet/GM, Tata, Audi, BMW, Triumph, Harley-Davidson had models & a lotta other fancy stuff on sale/display.
And even some outdoor stalls had diecasts on sale, like the Top Gear/CannonBall Club stall had a lotta Bburago's on sale.

And now pictures:

First up is Mercedes-Benz cuz I spent the most time there. Plus they'd displayed it very well.

This is all I could snap from Audi, the rest of the stuff was outta my reach, too chaotic at Audi & BMW pavilions. Going near the cars was a war.


Tata has released a 1:43 Norev of almost all their cars & even the Venture.


These Triumph's looked real hot, 1:10 or 1:12 I guess.

One of the most crappiest Auto Expo I attended till date.

I visited it yesterday, it was supposed to be business day means less crowded but I was blow away by the rush. Uncle, aunties, kiddos, dolled up girls and who not. Irrespective of the fact I spend almost 8 hours there I failed to see numerous stalls. Bloody hell, there was a long Que to get in the Merc pavilion and it was so long that we preferred shunning it altogether.

So much for being an Auto enthusiast.

True, yesterday was a total mess. It looked like it was weekend already. Where in the hell did such random people get the Special Invitee passes from & why?
I wonder what would've happened today & I hope people don't die tomorrow.
I too missed Audi, Skoda, BMW, Mini, Triumph on the 2nd day, they'd even closed the gates. Luckily had seen em on the first day.
And thank God I was able to skip that super long que for Mercedes with the help of the VIP invites I'd won. Phew!
