RE: Universal Hobbies?
They aren't that great. Possibly something like between current Wellys and Norevs. They do make some pretty unique stuff though. Although I think now they are no longer in production or something.

RE: Universal Hobbies?
I have one 1:18 Universal Hobbies model in my collection. It is a Ford Model T 'Paddy Wagon' in N.Y.P.D. livery.Detailing isn't exactly mind-boggling.The quality is definitely better than most recent Maisto releases in terms of neatness and the overall fit and finish but the level of detailing is the same as the budget brands. If anything,I would say Universal Hobbies sits ever so slightly below Welly in terms of detailing.I don't think the company is active at present and all their models are older releases so quality is only as good as was possible at that price back then. Some of the models may be a bit rare and hard to find now but I don't recommend spending huge money on them. The 1:18 Land Rovers are very tempting.Don't know much about the 1:16 tractors.Look for photos and reviews on DX or some other forum before buying.

RE: Universal Hobbies?
The tractors are more accurate and detailed, some wires, mobile parts, etc

RE: Universal Hobbies?
UH is the only one making the LR Defenders and they are as expensive as they come. If you like the subject matter, there is nothing like it. UH also make smaller stuff and I really like them.

If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit.
