1:18 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG by Maisto

When I first saw a commercial by Mercedes Benz where Michael Schumacher was driving a red SLS and promoting it, the only thing running in my head was to somehow get my hands on this beauty as soon as possible. Thus, I went out and bought the one which was most widely available – a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG by Maisto.

The SLS has been one of Mercedes’ huge success stories and it was one of the first to display the new design component which is now seen throughout the MB range. The SLS features a Gull wing door which became an instant hit when it came way back in 1954 in the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. In actuality, a lot of key components are similar between the two cars, like the front grille for example.

Thus, combining the best of the two centuries, MB came out with the SLS AMG in the year 2009 displaying it at the Frankfurt Motor Show and then sales began in mid 2010.

Very cool photos.Love the SLS AMG.Still haven't got my hands on a 1:18 example.
This silver with red interiors combination looks fantastic!And I like these wheels as well.They work particularly well with the gold brake calipers.Maisto appears to have done a very good job on this.The rising spoiler is a nice touch.Minichamps actually left out that workable detail in their rendition.

Great possession mate!
The SLS AMG is one car that makes me wanna switch to scale 18. Maisto made it even in that pull-back 1:30's scale but no 1:24.
That spoiler pic is very clever.
