1:18 Mercedes Benz G55 AMG
And the AMG invasion continues with this 1:18 Mercedes Benz G55 AMG by AutoArt.This is the 2009 face-lifted version.
The G-Wagen was developed by Steyr-Daimler-Puch and first offered for sale in 1979 and redesigned in 1990/1991.A new version was expected for 2007 but the new GL-Class that came did not replace the G-Wagen and the latter continued to be hand-built in Graz,Austria with an annual production of 4000 to 6000 units. In February 2009,Magna Steyr,an operating unit of Magna International, announced that it had signed an agreement with Daimler AG to extend the production of the Mercedes Benz G-Class at Magna Steyr in Graz,Austria until 2015.Besides the production, the further development of the G-Class by Mercedes-Benz is also located in Graz since 1992.The G-Wagen is the longest produced Mercedes Benz in Daimler's history with a span of 32 years.
The G55 AMG has a 500 horsepower supercharged 5.4 litre V8 engine that propels it from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds.Pretty scary in a car with the aerodynamics of a brick. But what a brick!!

Nice "Banz" Wink
Jokes apart, I love the G55 AMG and have it somewhere in my wishlist. There is something sophisticated about her utilitarian looks. She looks bomb proof to me, definitely the car to drive while saving the world!

This is really a great job by Autoart. I have seen this is flesh as Srinjay Ray owns the same. When I took it in my hands, I was amazed to see how much attention they have put in the detailing. You can also see those red defogger lines on the rear glass. Brilliant, I would say.

Your collection of AMG is surely envious Petrolhead!

Grenades!!! Gold chains!!!This is a born killer machine, both in its looks as well as it's purpose. Big Grin
It gives me the feeling that this is that sort of a car a mafia will use for his purpose.
Great car by Autoart and again the rule of the AMG's continue. Keep them coming PacMan. Keep them coming.

I dunno why but a G55 always scream to me, UAE, Dubai, Sheikh...Get outta the way or be killed...and things like that. Tongue
Am really glad Mercedes has retained the shape & looks of the G-Class & I wish they continue that throughout. It is a one of a kind SUV out there. & thats what makes it special.
Great shots Pac-Man. Wink

Totally agree with that. This car is all about wealth & power.
Oh & Gugga this reminded me of the SMC Delhi meet, remember how I almost jumped off the seat when I spotted a black one parked there at Select Citywalk? Big Grin

Oh yea, but the boss will actually be in a S65 while a bunch of these will be the escorts. Wink
