Signature 1:18 1934 Duesenberg
This is my latest acquisition from my last trip to kolkata. I must admit that gradually I'm becoming a vintage fan. This is the 4th consecutive vintage addition to my collection and this is a real antique piece. The detailing by Signature is just mind-blowing. This is one model in my collection that even people who find model cars boring stop and have a close look at.
Fantastic chrome-finishes on the door handles, the engine is really something to look at and the interior is pretty well done too. Plus the roof is detachable and you can put another small plastic piece at the rear which is the roof folded down and tucked under. The size of the model is just huge, it's easily almost a foot long and the exotics like the gallardo and the aston martins look like a different scale when kept beside this. Everything about this model is huge from the large headlights to the huge front grill to the unique boot-cum-box at the rear of the car. One of the most interesting features I noticed was the presence of forward-facing mirrors fixed on sides of the hood just beside the spare tires. I can only guess what they are meant for. I got this piece at a 25% discount as the marquee on the hood was kind of bent which I fixed it after buying it. Modeller, I'm sure you must be having this one but why not comment on this anyway, hehe?? My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." Wowsers! Love the Duesey Karan. I guess you are going to blame Dussey for your conversion into a vintage car collector. I have never found this model here or it would have definitely made it to the collection. This and the Mercedes 770K are a must have for me.

Modeller Wrote:Hi Karan. Come join the band of vintage and classic car enthusiasts. Modeller, I got this from Starmark (a book store) in Kolkata. They had only one in stock. You can contact modelart, maybe they will have one in stock. My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. RE: Signature 1:18 1934 Duesenberg
Thanks for making my life a little more difficult Modeller. I know I should have got that Mercedes when it was readily available. But then I had some other priorities and funds were diverted to those cars. the 770K is a classic and would look right in any collection. In terms of presence, it is second to none. I only wish Signature had taken a little care in some of the finer details and the QC.

RE: Signature 1:18 1934 Duesenberg
^^ Thanks Manish
Couldn't agree with you more. And to top it all they are pretty reasonably priced too at generally around 2500 - 3500 apiece. Unfortunately 1:18 Signatures have become all but extinct locally Modelart now just has few pieces of 1:32 Siggies. I was fortunate enough however to come across the '38 Cadillac Fleetwood in 1:18 in Kolkata a few weeks back. Will post pics soon.
