I love competition racers for their grit and history. This is one of my favorites.

Audi won LeMans 3 times in a row from 2000 -2003 with the R8. They went on to win a further 2 victories at LeMans before replacing the R8 with the diesel powered R10 in 2006.

This replica is from Maisto's now defunct Racing Line. Its ticks all the right boxes, a pity they stopped making these LeMans racers.

I always wanted a Schumacher figurine, but the prices are crazy.
So I got me a permanent marker in red and repainted my Stig. Its not perfect, but gets the job done.

What a fantastic model and the no. on it is so apt. R8. It never got better than this...or did it? With the Crocodile??? I wonder. The red Stig...he looks so kinky.
Here is mine. Got this with a Autocar India subscription at the Speed Show in Bombay a few years ago.

The Croc is definitely the king of the R8 hill. My favorite racing livery ever- no other racer has such a cohesive and intricate theme! Thanks to your efforts, I got one in my collection Drinks

Nice!!I love LeMans racers too!And this is a most successful specimen.Can't believe I let these gems from Maisto's 'GT Racing' line get away.I do have a 1999 R8 LeMans car but I'm missing these red and silver cars that followed.Also missing the truly spectacular 'Crocodile'.
Spectacular photos of a spectacular car.Not so sure about the raspberry Stig though...
