Stores in HK?
Hi Guys,

Can you'll please guide me to brick and mortar stores in HK that retail die-casts? Relatives of mine will be travelling there and I would like them to bring along a few die-casts for me, especially HWE's as they are not available here. Awaiting response. Thanks!!

RE: Stores in HK?
Hey Curiosity,

In Hong Kong, the Kowloon side of the city is where you need to go diecast shopping. If your relatives are on the HK side of the territory, they need to take the MTR to Yau Ma Tei station (in Kowloon), exit on Waterloo road, walk upto where Dundas street meets Waterloo road (which is about a 150 metres north-east), and then make a left on Dundas street. Look for 'Kwong Wah' hospital (it's a big grey building), the opposite of which is a commercial building called, 'Yan On' building. Yan On is littered with scores of diecast shops like Model's Pro etc. Also try walking into the many nondescript commercial buildings on Hennessey road, in the same neighbourhood. Do not go to the Big Model shops in Wanchai (HK side) as they suck for diecast enthusiasts.

Hope this helps.

RE: Stores in HK?
The location is exactly what GF said. My sister (Abhiroop's wife) had been to HK but her hotel was way too far from that area. She had to take a cab and cross a river and the toll charges were so high that I could have bought another premium diecast with that money. I'd gone through their Taxi websites, calculated the traveling costs for the distance she'd to travel (which wasn't much actually) but I'd no idea about these toll charges and all. I even had a word with the store guys over the phone from here and they had kept my model ready but end of the day I'd to drop the idea. So make sure that traveling is not an issue for your relatives.

Use google map to find the directions, it helps!!!
