World’s most expensive model car

It's a 1:8 scale Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 built by Robert Gülpen Engineering. First shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it's about to make three entries into the Guinness Book of Records: the most expensive and most precious model car in the world, the most secure showcase - a bulletproof cabinet - and the most precious Lamborghini logo ever built.

Model wise it is just another model. Just 1 piece produced, hence the exclusivity. And well detailed.

The $5 million tag is because of the gold platinum precious stones. We have read in history and seen in movies kings and queens used to have such exclusive stuffs. Such as a knife with rubies and emeralds. Or a walking stick made of gold etc.

I would have been thrilled, if this car had a working engine (which would have been possible). But a simple model studded with some precious stones does not kick that model aspect. IMHO it is a waste of everything, the jewels included.

i thought this forum was to look at "lighter" side of things, thats why it holds the title "On the lighter side"!!

Great bit of craftsmanship, but I don't get the reason for making one at that price when you can get a real car at fraction of the cost.

Okay.I wouldn't buy one.Not even if I had all the money in the world.But after having heard this being said about a billion times,I have to point this out.Don't compare the price of this insane heirloom to the price of the real car.Yes.You can buy thirteen actual Aventadors for the price of this model but remember that this thing is actually aimed at the kind of people who already have thirteen actual Aventadors.And possibly thirteen examples of all the other cars that might take their fancy.
