What is/are your other hobby/hobbies?

Hobbyists in most cases do not stick to just one. They generally get attracted to multiple stuffs. By hobbyist I mean you collect something. Watching movies is not a hobby unless you are building your own movie collection in a media format (CD/DVD/VHS). I watch a movie a day (almost, but it is not my hobby).

Similarly, you might collect old LP records, of your taste. Listening to downloaded mp3 tracks on a mobile and a ipod isn't a hobby either.

Gardening is another great hobby. Those flowers when they bloom is your collection to show off and a great satisfaction.

And ofcourse photography. A few great shots among many junk shots, is what you will keep and show. Over the years, those will be a great collection. Thanks, to the digital cameras, anyone with a bit of enthusiasm can pursue this hobby. If photography is your hobby, what do you like to shoot? Candid, Potraits, Macros or just diecasts?

Blogging non-commercially is another digital age hobby. It can be creative, refreshing specially if you have a crowd that actually reads your blog. The blog becomes a collection of your valuable posts.

Building DIY electronic projects is another great hobby. I pursued it till 1999 and dropped it after that.

Some others collect wine and some collect cigars. Some collect matchbox labels, badges, and beer bottle caps.

Ok gyan apart, I have 2 hobbies. I collect die-cast scale models. 1:18/1:43 and 1:64 are my fav scales.

My other hobby is collecting stamps. I do have the entire Indian stamps issued since 1947 till date and unused (which is called mint in philately). This is my most precious collection of all.

What is/are your other hobby/hobbies?

WHOA! The Stamp collection intrigues me!! Do you also have those special edition Stamps that are issued from only a few POs (usually in Re.5 guise)

Anyways, After Diecast, my second hobby is restoring classic Fiats (as most of you guys know). And if it is not Fiats, I am always working on something or the other from my vast collection of automobiles. (yes yes I know I'm blowing the sun up my ass)

My other hobby, until recently was photoshop modding of automobiles and sketching car designs. I haven't done either one for a while now..

Good thread Aritrim. Currently, the only hobby I got is in model cars. I love gardening but can't seem to get enough time for it.
BTW, would love to see your stamps collection pics. Having the entire collection must make it real exclusive. I have head of stamp exhibitions , have you taken part in it?

Now on my end, beside Scale Model Collection (strictly vintage & classics in 1/18 scale), my 2nd hobby is photography. Though I am not a pro but I love it. I usually capture anything and everything (ranging from Nature to Cars to Food to People to Monuments/ Historical buildings/ Ruins et all) whatever appeals to me.

Yes that's what comprise 85% of the collection. Those are called commemorative stamps. And one day I will own a red n white re-built fiat.

Stamp exhibitions are great, but needs concise and deep topics for exhibits. Which I do not have yet. You cannot display a huge collection in an exhibition.

For example you can collect stamps on Locomotives and do a concise and informative collection. That is nice for an exhibition. Or a nice collection on "Birds of Prey". Or say a serious topic such as "Postal History of Jaipur State".

I will take some pictures and show here definitely.

2.Collecting Music dvds. I've around 200-250 of them.
3.Collecting movies. Though I don't have them written on dvds / cds, but I've them nicely sorted out and stored in my 1.5TB HDD
4.Painting CARS (though don't do it much anymore)
5.Scotch Whiskey tasting.

First of all a round of applause, that piece sounds very very tight! Being a die hard fan of Led Zep, Metallica, Dire Straits and Hendrix I can atleast understand how good it is being played. I have never listened to Dream Theater. Nova Sanctum rocks! Hey lovely name there.

Post a shot of your music dvd collection. That "bhoot" was killed in my brains after cassettes were replaced by CDs. But I do have a few LPs of Led Zeppelin and Dire Straits.

Whiskey tasting is interesting!! Our board guru Winston is a whiskey man. By that I mean, he understands the tastes of different whiskeys and drinks according to his mood (without water essentially).
