MB 300 SLR 722 (1955) by Burago
This is perhaps one of the most famous and elegant racing cars in the history of Motorsports. It was piloted to victory by Sir Sterling Moss and co-driver Denis Jenkinson. They won the 1955 Mille Migilia (1000 miles) in a record time of 10 hours 7 minutes and 48 seconds. 722 denotes their starting time. That record still stands.

Moving on to the model by Burago - this is originally a Maisto mold. Except for the over chromed wheels, the rest of her is impressive. Your only other option is the CMC version which bristles with detail and costs more than 10 times this one!

On to the pictures now folks:

Thanks Ravneet!

I agree, I'd love the 722 commemorative edition McLaren SLR in dark silver and one in orange. Its a crazy car and I am quite bewildered that no one has made it in 1/18 yet, its sure to be a sell out!

Thanks Sri!
On the Burago version that I have, they've just used printed paper :S.
The Maisto version has cloth seats and better engine detail too, but its hard to come by now... The exterior is the same on both.

Yep, I'd love to see the McLaren SLR 722 made in diecast too!

guggga bro, nice car there. I love this car a lot. the detailing is to die for. apart from what you have told, the tyres also have side engraving on them. I have the MAISTO version and is made in THAILAND.

Gugga: seems we have almost same taste when it come to Classics. I was about to purchase this and the Gull Wing Merc but ended up with the Karmann Ghia as it was in my WL. Great shots buddy! This is really a nice car and a neat job by Burago.

@Srinjayray: I was talking about this car to you when I was in *Mark on Saturday Tongue
