Mercedes S-Class Lineup
Hey guys, I'm not a sedan guy but somewhere into the future, I had a faint plan of building up a generational lineup of the famed S-Class (the car of the dictator Tongue). But I wanted help in regard which model manufacturer makes all of these in 1:18. Would appreciate help on this. I have shown below pics of each of the S-Classes starting from the very first (pics courtesy wikipedia).

1. W180

2. W111

3. W108 (I know this is made by Autoart and is called the 1970 300 SEL)

4. W116

5. W126

6. W140

7. W220

8. W221 (again S63 made by Autoart, but is this stock non-AMG version also made by Autoart?)

Thats a nice thread Karan, shall help everyone looking for a lineup of Merc sedans. I've already started working on my E-class/ S-class line up and have so far acquired the W124 (EClass) & W221 (S Class), as you can see from my Signature -pic Big Grin

RE: Mercedes S-Class Lineup
Ravi bhai...thanks a lot for that information man Xyxthumbs Drinks I had also come across the Revell and the Norev ones on ebay. Are those the best options around for those particular S-Classes?? And yeah, I too was confused over the 1st pic of Revell you had posted for the W180 Ponton. I think Sunstar has made the coupe version of the same, looks very gorgeous. Would like to know though if someone has made the sedan version. I think the W180 sedan was the "inspiration" for our very own Hindustan Motors Ambassador if I'm not wrong.

SL Class is also very interesting Amar. Really beautiful cars in the whole SL range. That's on my radar too I think Tongue No limit to this madness!!!

Thanks Srinjay, although to be honest I have no idea when I plan to start building this lineup. This will have last priority after more interesting lineups like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches Big Grin

That is not a W180.That is a W120 which was the first generation of the Mercedes Benz E-Class.'180 Ponton Sedan' is the model name while W120 is the company's internal designation for the car.The first generation S-Class you are looking for has the internal designation W180 but the name of the car was '220A/220S/220SE'.

As for giving this line-up last priority until you've completed other line-ups,my only suggestion to you would be to not be too methodical.Like you said, this hobby is madness.Big Grin If you find something you really like and want for a very good price, don't let it go just because you're working on some other line-up at that moment. You may pass on a very very good deal and by the time you do get around to acquiring that part of your wish-list,the same model might have ended up becoming elusive and consequently expensive.Smile

By the way,Karan (groundforce) has the model in that eBay listing, the 1:18 Mercedes Benz 180 Ponton Sedan (W120) by Revell and it is beautiful.Check out his photos!
