Honestly Srinjay... its not that simple to do... it involves masking, gradient blurring, lens blurring, increasing saturation and tweaking contrasts to arrive at a respectable result... Once you know PS to a certain extent then it becomes easy to do.. Again, it can't be done with every picture... the picture itself must be almost a birds eye view kind of shot to begin with... Here's another one of my examples: ![]() (05-20-2012 09:28 PM)Slix.Salakshya Wrote: @^ The idea is to create a shallow depth of field which usually happens in macro photography or in a small area. Like we're always complaining about our models not being in focus completely. And for that we blur out most of the image keeping the focus only on the objects positioned at the center of the frame. As it's normally not possible to achieve such a DOF with life-sized objects our brain believes that its a close-up shot of a tiny scaled down replica. Contrast & color tweaking is also part of the trick. Btw, what we need is something inverse of this, we got miniatures we have to fake real, right? Yeah Slix... you almost hit the nail on its head!!

(05-21-2012 03:47 PM)manishalive Wrote: Slix this is one heck of explanation. And we do not need this stuff (as a model photographer purely). Your last sentence is what is of importance to us. Now can we get some information on that. I wish I had more info on that last sentence. I dunno know of any such trick for that, atleast not any I've heard yet. I guess inverse miniature faking is something entirely based on compositions & more importantly luck And am saying that from my experience in scale model photography so far. ![]() (05-21-2012 03:54 PM)the4thlord Wrote: Again, it can't be done with every picture... the picture itself must be almost a birds eye view kind of shot to begin with... Yup, the frame must not be mostly occupied by one single object, the picture needs to be of a very large area covering a lotta comparatively small items spread around adding to the miniature effect. Bird eye view as mentioned is the most suitable & most popular. Plus the picture must not have any motion blur in the area which would be kept in focus, everything needs to look static without any hint of movement. | Cars: 33 in 1:24, 2 in 1:18 plus 13 others | Bikes: 41 in 1:18 | Salakshya.com | Slix's collezione at facebook |

This is way more brilliant the the last photo Gaurav. Yeah I need to spend more and more time with P.S. What I know now is not even 5% of it or may be even less. Thanks for sharing

A comparison between a HUMMER H2 and a Leopard 2A6 tank. The language is an issue but it's one sweet watch:

Since we were discussing on Tilt-Shift photography, which is indeed a very interesting mode for photographer, here is a link. On this site you can convert any photo to a tilt shift photo. No need of PS. This application is also available on the Chrome App Store which gets integrated with the Google Chrome Browser. Enjoy 'tilt shift'
Tilt Shift Maker Here is an example. I took this image from google and used the Tilt Shift Maker website. Adjustments needs to be done properly. I am sure with practice more perfect effects can be given.
