RE: Diecast's: Maisto Mercedes SLK
Are both of them Maistos?

Shutlines at bumper headlight assembly look like a repair job gone horribly wrong.

The red one looks better of the two.

RE: Diecast's: Maisto Mercedes SLK
This is the SLK350??
I like the red one.Detailing isn't great but it looks alright from a distance.I've been considering getting one of these standard SLK models and I really like the colour of that blue one Minichamps made. Not in a hurry though because I have a 1:18 Mercedes Benz SLK55 AMG in silver by HotWorks and it is really very well done.(Not to be confused with the 1:18 Mercedes Benz SL63 AMG by Schuco's 'Absolute Hot' brand. That one is high on my wish-list.Big Grin )
If you don't have it already,I very highly recommend the SLK55 AMG by HotWorks,Ravi. It comes with a working roof and you can also choose to modify it using a set of 1:18 custom parts. My example came with a Carlsson kit that I haven't (and probably won't) install on the model. But I think you can also have versions that come with Brabus or Lorinser kits.

Inside every man is a little kid who wants to play.

RE: Diecast's: Maisto Mercedes SLK
Those are nice pics of a nice model Ravi. I'm not sure about this but doesn't this Maisto version come with a workable hardtop?? Back in 2008 when I was in Pune, a dark green SLK from Maisto was a common sight across malls there but I was a fool not to have appreciated its beauty back then. I should have grabbed it up. SLK class is one of the more exotic interesting ones from Mercedes and I think I would in the future look to have all 3 of them in my collection - R170, R171 and R172.

My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston)

Nope.Maisto's 1:18 R170 SLK models come with the foldable roof. But it looks like they didn't bother with that when they were developing the R171.
