Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT (Autoart 1:18)
As I begin writing another review, I'm just out of words and filled with emotion. Lamborghini, as a marque, has been closest to my heart of all the marques out there. Lamborghini gave the world flamboyance and sheer insanity. Cars that were made out of legends - Miura, Countach, Diablo, Reventon, the list is endless. Lamborghini gave the word "brash" a totally new definition. You wanna feel brash, arrogant and show to the world that yes, you are filthy rich, then get a Lamborghini, plain and simple. It's not a fashion statement, it's just IN YOUR FACE. Lamborghini says to the world, 'if you think you are an automobile connoisseur by going for cars like the DB5 or a Skyline, then you are simply too afraid to get into a Lamborghini, you are afraid it will make you look like a 5 year old.' In short, Lamborghini is not for the faint-hearted.
I remember I had a huge double-piece poster of the orginal Lamborghini Diablo on my bedroom wall as a kid. And this was right under another double-piece poster of a white Countach When I was in Modelart Delhi last month with other SMC members, they told me I should get the Mako Shark or the Mustang in grubber orange, but I just couldn't get my eyes off the 6.0 VT. I can stare at it for hours. The stance is just pure evil. Insane would be an understatement. I think it looks even better than the Reventon. Ok, I have to stop myself now or I can maybe write a short book on this ![]() PROS: 1. Stance as I said is bang on. Low ground clearance makes the model stand beautifully on its 4 wheels and is half the appeal of the entire car. And the proportions are just perfect. Love it!! 2. Great paintwork, shiny, lively coat of yellow paint all over. 3. Fine interiors with the dashboard easily being the winner of the interiors of the model. 4. The wheels, man, those amazing wheels. And superbly modelled brake discs and calipers with 'Brembo' stencilled on the calipers. Fine work by Autoart. CONS: 1. Bumpers and side-skirts are not quite made of diecast metal I think. And the result is that they have slightly different shade of yellow colour than the top bodywork of the model. 2. Engine detail is disappointing. Or perhaps that was just the case in the 1:1 too. In which case you can't really blame Autoart. 3. Bootlid and engine cover which refuse to stay propped up without your help. A consistent problem with most Autoart models. 4. Doors also sometimes face the problem of staying up without some help. In my example, this is the case with one of the doors, not both. And I think this problem can be found in all the Diablos that Autoart made. But despite all these defects, this model is a stunner. If you are allergic to paint quality differences such as found on this model (read bumpers and side-skirts), you can get the orange one which has this problem to a much lesser extent. But if, like me, you are just madly and passionately in love with this car, all these problems wouldn't bother you at all Every Lamborghini fan must have this car and every exotic lover should have this car. Enjoy the pics!!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston) ![]() picasaweb.google.com/karansharma8783 |

RE: Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT (Autoart 1:18)
Fcuk awesome! This is where Autoart really shines man - look at the attention to detail on that Diablo with all those nice meshes, photo etch and interior detail!
The shape of this car is so beautiful and clean. Excellent purchase mate and another well written review! ![]() And yes, Lamborghini are not for the faint hearted. Even though most Lambos of their time had better competition, they still stand out as cars which have a whole lot of character.

Congrats for your addition. You've pointed very well the best and wrong parts of the model. I have it on the same colour. I think on black the outside errors are less visible.

RE: Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT (Autoart 1:18)
Yeah! That GTR is so hardcore!
The 6.0 VT n this compliment each other. The 6.0 is such a refined and mature beautiful design, while the GTR is bonkers mad with the same DNA. |
