Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 1971 by Welly
One of my favorite muscle designs. Manages to look sexy and imposing at the same time.

On to the photos:

Oh man! What a gorgeous model. I so love the 1970s Pontiacs. The stance, fit and finish, paint, engine...its all so well put together. No doubt the photography is helping to further the Welly's cause. KV has this model in white but after looking at theses pics, I am in a fix, blue or white. I thought white was nice but blue is equally rocking. Cannot go wroing in either. Good one Guggga. I think you must be getting a good tan with the amount of time you put on the terrace with the cars.

If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit.

@ Guggga - Man oh man....this is one spectacular model from Welly....totally kickass!! I have got this exact same one in blue and I just love it to bits Smile I especially love those finely detailed side indicator lights and the rear brake lights. Except for the non-perforated front grillwork (which is just really nitpicking to the extreme Tongue), this rendition of the Firebird could be perhaps the one providing the max value for money. The paintwork on this blue one is perfect, at par with Autoart's and Kyoshos.

@ Winston - Dude, I was actually in the same fix as yours. The Firebird has come to our shores in 3 different lots of Wellys. The first time it was imported, it was in white. That time I couldn't get it coz I remember I had picked up the Cougar Eliminator over it. Although to be honest, I was quite fixated on the white one. In the next lot, Zapak imported the blue Firebird. And you know what, I totally forgot about the white one when I came across the blue one, I bought that on the spot. And I don't regret it at all, the blue one takes the cake hands down Smile

My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston)

@ Sergio: Thanks for the kind words bro Smile Welly is the new king of the budget hill. Irrespective of the price, they put some heart n soul into what they make.

@ Karan: I agree, this is an excellent model. My only gripe with it is the wheels - which isn't Welly's fault cus the real thing came with these same wheels. As a first - of any of the models I own- I am itching to change the wheels on her to something better! White or blue, this model is solidly made and both colors were present on the 1/1s too- can't go wrong with any color.

@ Winston: Fix?

What fix? Xyxthumbs

Haha Winston, you managed to make me laugh a little this Tuesday morning. Good on ya. Smile

Guggggs, the Trans Am is a beautiful automobile, and your 1:18 rendition is an absolute gem - I want it, and the trench coat on that figurine too please. Your photos are awesome too, as always Smile

Just making up for the lost time, I guess Big Grin

Get it while you can mate cus the pocket friendly stuff that Welly makes flies faster off shelves than the rest of them all put together. No serious, if you like muscle cars- this is a great model to have.

Glad that you liked the photos man! Smile[/align]

@ Bandhav: Bro - that one still is the best foto ever of this car. Period.

@ Manish: Look bro, if you can find one now, get it. Its a great model and the low price is not worth the regret of not getting it now... and never getting hold of one again - know what I mean? Smile

Guggga bro, nice model in a nice coat. I do have this in white and you rightly said that whether White or Blue, its just pure nirvana. Welly has done a superb job. Most importantly,it has an engine block as opposed to that of any maisto at the same price range.

@ Winston Bhai: Bhratashree, why don't you go for both the colors? I mean, white is subtle and blue is rocking. Its actually very confusing to chose one out of the two. Even I was under the same dilemma but later went with the White one.
