RE: Ferrari 612-Scaglietti(Hot-Wheels) 1:18-rosso
Nice!!I agree with you when you say that this is an average scale-model of a rather unremarkable looking Ferrari but it will always be special for it is your first 1:18.Smile Congratulations!!
I have one of these. While I hope to replace most of my HotWheels 'Foundation' models with Elite or Kyosho renditions someday, this is one of two Ferraris I won't bother trading in.This one because it really quite decent in terms of quality and I never was a huge fan of the real thing and the 550 Maranello because it is very very well finished. If I'm not mistaken this 612 Scaglietti is a HotWheels 'Foundation' model from before the Elite line was born.I have no proof to support this theory but I've always felt that HotWheels made their 'Foundation' models a lot better before they started making the Elite range.Guess they now feel the need to hold back on their 'Foundation' offerings so that their Elite models look worth the premium.

The model seems to have huge potential for cosmetic mods. I am not very sure that how keen you on doing so but I feel that painting the front grill black will do the model a world of good in terms of aesthetic appeal.

She's pretty!!! I'm not sure how much you have paid for it, but if its not as pricey as the the premium brands I definitely wouldn't mind having it.
P.S. I've a feeling that every manufacturer should improve on their quality and finish of the Ferrari steering wheels.

+1 Bandhav....you hit the nail on the head. Schumi, if I were you, I would get around to doing that pronto. I am not really a fan of the 612 but this model (apart from the silver front grill) is a real VFM one from foundation HW and the exterior looks pretty nicely done. BTW Schumi where did you get yours from?? I remember alliedt123 on ebay had one in stock back in 2008, early 2009 but I passed it by. That time it was priced at Rs. 1500.

My favorite post on SMC "I wait for the day when you go ballistic while buying models after you get your first job. I think I would be seeing KV & the Modelart guys bursting fire crackers all day." (quote Winston)
