1:18 - 1999 Jaguar S-Type
Here's a 1:18 - 1999 Jaguar S-Type from Welly. The exteriors are well done for a Welly but the interiors are real bland cream. Anyways, did a diorama from some junk I had lying around. Those little green plants come from my train set.

Nice car.Didn't know Welly made this.Looks a lot like the Maisto rendition right down to the missing brake calipers.Same mold??
Always kinda liked the S-Type.I thought the front end was a bit fugly but all the slightly quirky details just came together to complete a rather impressive picture.Have the Maisto in a light metallic golden colour.Smile

Maisto and Welly have different molds for this car but it is hard to tell so. I could only make out they do because the rear lights have 2 attachment stubs on the Welly and only one in Maisto. Also there is slight change in the engine compartment. The turn light indicators on the bumpers of the Maisto are textured as well. Welly also offered this car in black and green which I think would have been more desirable than Maisto's choice of colors. There used to be S Type in metallic blue, similar to Sids, parked near Nikhil's shop in Fort back then.

If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit.

Did you say metallic blue S-Type near Nikhil's shop??These days I see a metallic blue Jaguar XF parked outside one of the nearby office buildings everytime I visit Gift Centre.Looks like someone in Fort really likes his/her metallic blue mid-range Jags.Big Grin

lol@Ari. Not really my friend. I just went and checked on mine. I still remember the day I went and got it. Nikhil happened to show me a model with a damaged boot lid. There was a bid dent on the upper edge of the lid. But he was kind enough to give me another perfect piece. I fell instantly in love with this Maisto. It was just my second Maisto and I was amazed at how well they did this car.
I see a dark blue Jag in Goregaon. I don't know what model it is. Maybe an XF but it is way too gorgeous to be on our roads.

@Siddvi : Its a lovely car. I have the Maisto version and I can't tell you how much I love it. Its my third 1:18 purchase and probably the best Maisto I've ever had. It was bought during the time (probably in the late 90s or early 2000s) when I didn't have even an iota of clue that there existed premium brands like AAs and Kyoshos. Mine is a metallic bluish grey. I've a lot memories with it and its so close to my heart Smile
