RE: 1967 Ford Mustang (Maisto 1:24)
@Karan : Yeah first buys are something you'll cherish your entire life. The same thing goes with my first purchase too - its an Alfa Romeo Roadster (1932) by Bburago that my father got me from Europe in 1996. Ohh man!!! I remember that excitement I'd when he handed me over the box Smile

@Moderator : Rightly said mate. A budget model is not a budget model just cos its cheap.

I've the same Mustang in 1:18 by Maisto and its the most badly made model I've ever acquired.

Ohho...what a coincidence...yep, agree, it's got some weight for a 1:24.

Hahaha...true that Sid Smile I was simply floored by the amazing paint finish on both these. That time I decided either I get both at the same time or none of them.

Thanks Ravi Smile BTW, it just struck me, do you have models in 1:24 scale?

Like Pacman said, great choice of subject matter for first diecasts. My first was a 1/24 Burago F50. Its still with me battered and bruised after 15 years. Smile

Thanks mate, am grateful to you Smile An F50....nice, I too got one in 1:24, it's a Maisto assembly kit. That time I remember, the normal 1:24 Maistos were priced at 495, while non-Ferrari assembly kits at 600 and the Ferrari assembly kits at 675!!

For me, a budget model is not the one that costs less, but the one that delivers the maximum value for money. For example the 190 E Mercedes by Autoart that I bought for 50 Euros in 2008, is a budget model for me. It has a tremendous value for money. Again, the Dodge Viper SRT by Maisto which I bought for Rs 900 in 2007, is a waste of money for me as it failed to deliver.

I have several models of Maisto like Hummer 1, 2, Mercedes CLS, SLK which I all tag as budget models. Good value for money.

The Bentley Arnage T by Minichamps is a classic example of an overpriced non budget model. It has a very little value for the 8K - 9K you are spending. At 4K, it would have been a cool budget model.

Low price does not indicate budget unless the minimum quality is delivered. Similarly overpriced does not guarantee you, you are buying a moon.

Judge before you buy, ask someone, look for deals and spend your money.

I started my collection with a Maisto Studebaker Starliner that cost me 750 bux in those older Maisto small black boxes. It is one of my favourite models and the best budget I have.

That's an interesting viewpoint Ari. Never thought of it that way. I agree with you on the Arnage, it's way overpriced IMO.

Nice car Buddy, even I to have the same in Yellow (the Pro Rodz version). This is a good model to have.

Oh yes, I remember you had posted the Pro Rodz version. Really evil version of this Mustang Smile

I PMed you once earlier after learning that you were interested in selling some 1:24 models. You said that you were more interested in selling em as a lot, this was the only that I was interested in plus I already had a '67 Mustang. So I din bother you any further. Smile
