RE: Buying from international ebay
He says he has already shipped to India the same way mentioning as customs charges = "Billed to seller" and he said no problems for those persons.
The term "Billed to seller" is the term that he used. It might not be exact term, but what he meant was he(seller) will take care of Customs charges. |

RE: Buying from international ebay
I have clicked the Button "Buy it Now" in international ebay. Now i choose the Credit card option.
I do not have paypal account. I tried to create one, But To confirm the Paypal account, i have to wait for 4 digit pin in my next credit card statement. The seller asked me to give the Credit card Number, Exp. Date and CVN number. He told he will Use secure method - "Internet Secure Elavon" he also need: address, phone number & email address. He told me, Don't worry about your Credit Card info, all of our credit card transaction is through by Internet Secur Elavon. We have our own store and website. Many customers pay by these 4 options. The seller has assured me that my Credit card info will not be divulged in any way, it wil be safe. Guys i am very nervous and afraid that i might get into Big Trouble. Please guide me Guys. I am nervous. Will i get into trouble . I am out Nervous. |

Give us a link to this seller! lets us have a look at his set up... maybe one of us has bought something from him? asking for CC details is normal if you don't have a Pay pal account!

RE: Buying from international ebay
I would never divulge my credit card details to anyone- luckily I don't have one. If the info falls in the wrong hands, you are doomed thanks to the non existent online fraud laws on this land.
If you buying online, never buy outside Paypal. Tell the seller to hold on till you can verify your card on Paypal. If he can't wait, there are other sellers out there to by items from. Also, at the moment, you should be able to go ahead and purchase thru paypal without verifying it. Unless, they have changed the rules from earlier this year. Nonetheless, it'll be foolhardy to give a seller your CC details who is in another country. Good luck! |

RE: Buying from international ebay
Once he has your CVV no with other details.. he can easily use them to do transactions on your cc. These cc companies keep circulating mails asking people not to disclose such info. So don't do anything stupid.
And about that pin to activate account. you don't have to wait for statement. Call cc helpline. tell them you made a transaction of whatever amount paypal takes from the cc. and ask them the particulars of the transaction or on what name the transaction was made. and thats your pin. the whole process won't take more than 5 mins |

He told me to fax the Customs invoice and that he would refund the money to my creditcard. Oh now I got it, that's what is called Billed to Seller . The google also revealed the same, but you cannot trust the info.(10-07-2011 02:56 AM)subramanian Wrote: I have clicked the Button "Buy it Now" in international ebay. But at the same time We had to fax the CC info to Universities in US and Germany for taking their exams or for applying for a seat. That was in 2007 / 2008. We used a local Fax booth for that. Thank goodness nothing wrong happened. But then even without the the CVV number the guys can charge the amount to you CC. My travel agent (for official tours) always does that. Just your number and DOE is required. The whole CC thing is a boon but same time is painfull. As a safety measure you can just get a new credit card with the old one disqualified / blocked. My official credit card always automatically is blocked one I travel to high risk countries, and a new one is issued. |

RE: Buying from international ebay
thanks to all of you for helping me.
But due to panicking, i have given the seller, my credit card details. BUt after that also he communicated properly and is trying to ship my item. ok if the seller has taken the correct amount of money from my card and if i receive the item safely. As soon as i reveive the item in my hand, shall i block the Credit card and get a New One. Still item not yet shipped. My credit card is not yet charged( The seller told me that he has used "Internet Secure Elavon" which takes 2 business days for Processing the Transaction.) and then only i will be charged from my credit card. He also assured me that if any excess amount is taken as additional charges (tax for transaction) has occurred, then he told me to inform him and that he will take of it and refund it. If any problems occurs, then soon i will block, will that be OK? My Credit Card is NOT Platinum Card kind of stuff. But then, I feared because in rare cases it might be misused. But as you all guided me, i will block the Card once the transaction goes smooth, Is it OK? My Credit card limit is also not too high, even if any misuse occurs. The seller cannot go beyond the Limit of the Credit Card credit limit, Am i Right? |
