@gf & @gugga: yes guys, you people are right. It's called "luchi'' in Bengali. Something similar to 'kachori'. The ones in the picture are basically luchi stuffed with green pea paste. It's called 'karai-shutir (green pea) kachori' in Bengali Big Grin

Oh I know that stuff, come winter season and this will be the hot item in the eastern part of the country (and also takes precidence over sattu if i might add). The sad thing is Green peas are available round the year Sad.

We Bongs don't have sattu Tongue , that's a popular thing in Bihar. We have luchi (doesn't matter what climate it is) - which is like puri without any any stuffing and the one Abhi mentioned is simply a puri with stuffed peas.

I was not aware that sattu is not the famous stuff in Great Bengal, I know Bilari's like that to the hilt Big Grin.
