Driven and co-driven by Solberg and Mills, this car set the fastest time in first SS1. The race sadly came to an abrupt end after hitting a wall while negotiating a damp corner while approaching a 4th gear bridge crossing. Damage on the radiator and intercooler during a earlier mishap in the rally meant retirement for the car.

One of AUTOart's finest models. Uniform paint. Neat graphics. Reeks quality from every angle. a worthy addition to any collection.
AUTOart also makes the Rally France version of the same car.

The doors do not swing out as much to shoot some decent pics. That said the doors are pretty difficult to open and I have seen the sample model at the hobby shop with broken door handles and side mirrors. The side mirrors are just attached with three plastic pods and should come in the hand if you try to open the doors a couple of times.

At first glance the engine compartment looks sparse. But thats because of the huge air box over it. Look more carefully and AUTOart has built a good amount of detail into it. Heres a picture of the engine from top. [Image: 10020860sp.jpg]
Nice detailing, what is the scale of this model?
Thats 1:18 model Janardhan.
Solido (or is it Sunstar) makes many versions of this car too with accessories matching the rally it took part it. Sadly no one is importing them to India.
Impressive, to say the very least, aaah, how i wish I had atleast one Autoart model!!!!
Actually the one Autoart model that I would die for is the Ford GT yellow with black stripes, amazingly beautiful car.
Thanks Karan. The Ford GT is amazingly beautiful. Also the Lotus Esprit in red is a keeper. I would love to have the GT in red with white stripes but the the price tag of 3.5K for each of these cars is a downer. Not as much detail like in the Subaru.
