Hi folks, all of us love diecasts but each one of us like them in different sizes........so which one is your favourite scale?
My favorite has to be 1:18 for the amount of detail available at prices ranging between 1000 and 4000 Rs.
I love 1:43 for the wide range of models available in this scale. Name the car and chances are you would find it in this scale. Kyosho is now offering opening features on some of its 1:43 and that is really the beginning of something good.
1:18 followed by 1:43. Personally I feel, a diecast model looks best in the 1:18 scale.
Yup.....1:18 is truly amazing, but do any of you have a 1:12, if yes then what are its approximate dimensions???

Also, I don't understand why 1:43 scale is a favourite among some collectors?? Care to elaborate any one??
1:43 is particularly a favorite among European and Japanese collectors because of the size and also because of the huge variety of cars from those regions. Americans like larger scales, 1:24 and 1:18 and most American cars are made in it. Its really hard to find older American cars in 1:43.
While most 1:43 are definitely not on the cheaper side, the tremendous choice available in it is definitely an attraction to collectors. For eg, if you collect LeMans cars, only 1:43 offers all the winners of the race along with other rare cars that raced in the 24 hours race. Name it and you have the car in 1:43.
Edit: I would love to have a 1:12 model of a McLaren F1. Cost and space are a huge hurdle in even thinking about 1:12s.

Approx. same size of your keyboard in length or slightly bigger than that.
My favorite is 1:18.
Though I started with 1:64 over the years slowly graduated to 1:32 and 1:24, finally settled to 1:18 for the sheer amount of joy I get by owing the car and the detailing we can enjoy and appreciate cannot be matched by other scale.
Sure would not progress in an upward scale from here for the amount of space it will consume and of course the amount itself!
From 1:18, I would definitely like to progress to owning 1:1s of all the models I have.
Now I am off to start digging for oil in my backyard.
